Hello everyone, I tied to set my alarm last night and would not set. Entered code, asked if i want to set, press yes and just goes back to unset home screen. I have tried to part set, use different codes and fobs, but same problem all the time. Is my panel buggered? Pls help. Thanks in advance. Andy

Hi, I have just installed this system. On page 20 of the Engineers manual is Test Outputs. I've gone into this option via the LCD keypad in Engineers mode. When I go through each output, fire, PA, Intruder etc and toggle on/off nothing seems to happen. What is supposed to happen? Have I missed something? (Before this I've done Alarm test on page 19 where you can check operation of Bell, Strobe and sounder no problem)

Hi, I have just installed this system. I have a magnetic contact on the front door which is zone 1 timed. Also in the hall where the keypad is I have a PIR on zone 2 which is inhibit. When i set the panel 'Setting Fault 2:Hall' is displayed on the LCD keypad with a warning tone. The panel does eventually set. Is this normal or is the inhibit not functioning correctly? I have also tried setting the hall PIR to timed as well but with the same result. This is a bit confusing. Many Thanks

A friend has moved into a house with a fairly old Concept 6 alarm panel - which works great EXCEPT - the keys have started to wear and now dont make contact properly. The previous owners have obviously changed the code a few times, so all the number 0-9 dont work properly. How hard would it be to get hold of a new one? Or is it basically going to be easier to get a new panel and keypad?

Hi, I'm in the process of configuring and testing a new installation with a Texecom Premier 48 panel. So far everything is working as expected but I've got a strange problem with the extension speaker running from the control panel. The speaker is working ok but the alarm tone is emitting at the advisory volume level set in the Global Options rather than full volume as stated in the manual. I also have an 8XP Zone expander and the speaker connected to that works fine (alarm at full volume regardless of volume level set). I've tried swapping the speakers so it's not a problem with one of those and having been through all the settings in the manual I can't find anythin…

Hi I am looking at installing a wireless system, I require a pir that wont detect a dog about 30kg vibration sensors and a couple of door sensors was looking at the yale premium alarm, can you add other wireless products on to the sytem that are not yale but work on the same frequency? Galaxy G2+44, Proxi keypad and RF Portal have all gone in well, and wired door + PIRs, wireless PIRs and Prox tags all work a treat. However the Wireless door transmitter ( 5816HUK) is not picked up on the control panel, neither does the wireless key transmitter (5804H). If it were just one of them I would suspect duff kit (its all new) but 2 seems odd, especially as all the PIRs (honeywell ones) are fine. Any suggestions for diagnostics here. The manual is very light on RF stuff Batteries test ok, tamper loop is closed on the door transmitter. So I assume I am missing something?

Dear TSI, Just a quick one, I've looked through the installer manual and cant seem to find details on what is required for the touch screen to use a custom image, I wondered whether anyone could tell me whether the screen requires the image to be in 320x240 as I suspect, and whether it needs a custom name? or, perhaps, do the image attributes need setting to 256 colours? mucho thanks, jt

Hi I have inherited this alarm panel from the previous owners who gave me both their master code and engineers code. In the installer menu I have changed the engineer code to one of my choice, however, I am struggling to change the master user code for user x001. Following the user guide through the master user menu, the system doesn't seem to like me changing the code for user x001 or x002 for that matter, all other users I can edit/change. Any ideas? Thinking about it while I type, maybe what they have given me is not the master user number, but user x002?

Dear TSI, I think I understand this correctly, but before I go and try it out, I wanted to run it past you guys for your thoughts / clarification! We're using (Honeywell) Viper GL vibration/impact sensors on the windows, and the home owners little lad kicked his football against it whilst the alarm was off, causing the LED to activate, so, my thoughts were to connect an additional wire inside the sensor to the terminal for the led reset, and then the other end into the panel on one of the rio ouputs. My question is, what would be the normal procedure to disarm it? obviously if its activated then the homeowner would like to see which sensor it was (should the window not…

Hello ,Being a fire alarm engineer my knowledge of digicoms is a bit limited but Ive never had any problems with them until now. The company i work for has taken over 50 or so sites for fire alarm maintenance and as part of that we are changing the digicoms (scantronic 8440) to a different central station, uk monitoring from east midlands.I should state that the digis all work ok but the chips I have been sent don't seem to work correctly,they all dial ok but theres no handshaking going on and the digis just dial away ten times(i assume this is the default) before it gives up and resets.The central station receive all the signals but say they are getting no restores?…

Dear TSI, I wonder if anyone would be kind enough to let me know the SMS service centre number needed for the panel to use the SMS feature? My rep doesn't know, and getting through the tech-support is like doing a certain bodily function in the wind!! I am fitting a Galaxy 2-44 and have a door contact that does not have any wiring instructions. Its a simple magnetic contact rated at G3. Can anyone tell me if I need to fit a 1k resistor across the alarm and between the alarm and tamper contacts in the junction box? Also do these need any power from the panel? I am assuming no. I hope that makes sense. Many thanks for any help.

The bell box on my alarm set up has the usual coloured lens area at the bottom where the strobe light will flash when the alarm is set off - sounding, what I want to add is a couple off " comfort lights " you know the two red / green whatever alternating lights that will show the alarm to be in operation, something my own alarm does not have. problem is seem to be having problems tracking down anything like this, have looked on ebay and although there are so called dummy alarm lights similar to the above I honestly dont think at just 5mm in size each bulb they will be strong enough to show up, as my particular cover has a blue coloured lens area will I have to obtain blu…
