I have installed the powermax plus system but recently have been receiving FUSE FAILURE message as system trouble.Looking through the install manual cannot see anything refering to fuse trouble and how to reset.Reading through the manual it states that there are no fuses that could blow on this panel as they reset automatically so i was wondering what the problem could be.The older model had a fuse at the back 0.5amp for wired bell but new models do not and i am using wireless siren .The alarm works fine and sets ok but just getting this FUSE FAILURE message.Has anyone else experienced this?

I have installed my external siren and connected the wiring. All I have left to do is power up the system and connect the battery and test everything (!). My question is, should I power up the system before I attach the cover to the bell (in other words with an open tamper circuit) or is it ok to power up the system with the cover on the bell? Also, is it best to power up the system from the mains first or with the battery first? Thanks

Hi I have an Accenta Compact and need to change the code as one of the buttons is wearing out. Does anyone know how to do this? The alarm was installed by the person who owned the house before me and there is no instruction manual. Thanks!

hello im new here, Im a electrician and have wired a few alarms in the past, never designed, specified or commisioned an alarm just run in the cables. I have been asked to install a alarm system for one of my regular customers in a small bungalow, so i thought i would do it all myself this time. He only wants a basic system, i was recommended to use the texecom R8 panel, and dual technology PIRs which i have priced to use. Does this sound reasonable to use, a door contact on the front door(no PIR due to false alarms caused by post), PIR protecting the kitchen and back door, PIR protecting the french doors, these are the only entrances/ exits to the property, this will…

I am installing the external sounder/strobe today (hopefully) and wanted someone to confirm the wiring. My understanding is as follows: Accenta G4 Panel Odyssey bell/Strobe T (neg tamper) connects to C (Tamper) A (OV) connects to D (OV) D (12V Pos supply) connects to A (pos supply) B (neg VE sounder) connects to B (Bell) -strobe connects to S (Strobe) Thanks for your help in advance. Sorry about the typo, the panel is the Accenta G4 (8SP419A).

Hello Ive installing an Veritas Excel and im running it in EOL mode using the two resistor technique. All zones are fine except for one zone where im running two (no other free zones available) magnet switches. I was instructed that they should be installed as per the picture attached, the only problem is when both doors are open the panel must see a resistance of 53kohm and as a result goes into tamper. Could you please tell me what is the correct way to run two magnet switches whilst using eol please? Im guessing that the right way would be to bypass both magnet switches with one resistor instead of two 22k as per the attached picture? Many thanks Trev

I need to wire a CQR internal sounder (model SOINT2) to my Accenta G4 Panel. The sounder has a tamper switch and an LED. There are 5 connections on the sounder which are: +12V Trig -LED A/T A/T I presume the +12V from the sounder goes to the +12V on the panel The Trig is connected to the B connection on the panel (which is where the sounder connection goes to from the Odyssey 5 bell) The -LED is connected to the Set connection on the panel. Both A/Ts go to the tamper circuit (wired in series). I would be grateful if someone could confirm if the above is ok.

I have finished installing my alarm and am about to power it up. But I have just read that I should have used screened alarm cable between the RKP and panel. I have only used standard 6 core cable and wanted to know if it's advisable to change the cable. Also, where the cable runs from the panel to the external bell, most of this run is in the attic and the cable is quite close to various mains cables and also some central heating pipes. Is it worth replacing this with screened cable or re-routing to avoid the power cables and water pipes? Thanks

I'm installing an alarm for the first time. My kit is an Accenta Gen with LCD RKP, 4 Texecom 3D Quad PIRs, a CQR 550 door contact, a CQR PA button and a Texecom Odyssey 5 sounder. I have finished running the cables and wired the everything apart from the door contact and PA button. The door contact has 6 connections. Can anyone confirm if I just need to connect for wires from the 6 core cable to each connector either side of the reed switch and connect these cables to zone 1 one the panel? Also is it the same for the PA button - connect 2 wires to the connections either side of the reed switch and connect these at the panel? Do I need to conect any other cables to the do…

I installed a Texecom Veritas R8Plus about 3 years ago and haven't had any major problems. However, about a week ago when part setting at bedtime the control panel was making the noise that indicates an open circuit and so wouldn't set. I reset it and part setted again and this time it did set. Last night the same problem occurred but this time the open circuit sound wouldn't go off so I left the alarm off last night. After doing some checks this morning I have just found out that Zone 6 is open permanently so for the time being I've excluded this zone until I sort out the problem. Zone 6 consists of two surface magnetic contacts attached to the front and back doors…

Hi, I have a new Accenta 8 and Reson8 bellbox but only have 4 wires available to connect them together (cable already run in by the builder). The manual says you need 5 wires. At the moment the strobe is not working since thats the one wire I decided not to wire up. Is there a way to get the strobe to work when the siren goes off or something (maybe wiring two of the terminals together on the Reson8 ?). Thanks , Tony

I have recently replaced the old batteries (Energizer Ultimate) in the siren box of my Yale HSA3400 with Duracell Ultra M3's and have started having false alarms, which it has never done before in the 5 years since installing the system. Could it be the type of batteries I have used (the manual says to not use "heavy duty")? I have also recently installed a wireless router in the house - could this be interfering with the alarm and triggering it?

Hello, I recently changed one of my PIRs on a scantronic 9751 to a pet tolerant one. Finished the job and left installer mode and everything was fine and working. Next day I changed two, one in the kitchen and one in the hall. Everything seems to be working however I can't seem to leave installer mode. If I press any numbers on the downstairs panel it just beeps and keeps on showing installer mode. On the panel upstairs it just says the version and the date together with a spanner with red light and an exclamation mark with orange light. Can anyone tell me whats happening. When I type in 99 tick to leave installer mode it doesnt do anything . Help !

Hello everyone I would be grateful if someone could offer some advice please. I have just replaced my Optima XM with a Sterling Compact, and replaced all of the sensors with some pet friendly NEXT ones, all going swimmingly until I got to the Bell Box (external sounder). I planned to use the existing sounder as it always worked fine, and is nice and high on the building, close to the roofline. When I came to wiring it up though I have encountered a problem, no matter how I seem to wire it, the siren activates whenever I reconnect the battery and doesnt stop when I enter the usercode (even though the system goes into unlocked mode) I had expected to see 6 core cable…
