  2. Hi all, I bought a couple of Beyond wired sensor to be installed in my ProSys system because I read that They will replace soon the WATCHout models. I'm still testing them but I found that the PIR sensibility is quite low despite the MW looks to be good. It is quite easy to pass through the later sensor area being intercepted by MW only and then not causing an alarm. In fact, If I am not mistaken, the alarm condition is triggered when the LED become RED and not just if the MW reveal you (GREEN light). Because this happen son two different sensors I don't think it is a defect but a "feature" instead. Do you have any advice about this? Beyond is rea…

Can someone kindly advise me? I am going to install a photo electric perimeter beam (Optex AX-100TFR) which has an alarm output of only 3.6 volts DC. All the wireless doorbells chimers I'm coming across use 12 volts. Is there a 3.6v wireless chimer available anywhere? Thanks very much for any replies.

  4. Hi, i have a Scantronic 4700 alarm which i have had for many years. I have had to restart the system which involves reprogramming the zones. I am having problems with understanding option No7. Hi, Can you please suggest options for outdoor movement / PIR sensors that operate on 24V (or lower if we use a DC-DC step down). Looking for something as follows: compact / fairly flush positioned over a rear door, 180deg minimum coverage, with downward emphasis white colour installed on an external wall (so, IP rated for external use) dual tec / false alarm / pet immune 24V (or lower, can use a DC-DC step down if needed. Sooner 24V native) No timer delay on output if possible Relay output to connect to control system Any thoughts welcome. Thank you in advance.

Hi guys, I'm currently in the process of upgrading my home alarm system to a grade 3 system. It is a Texecom Premier Elite 48. I will be posting further questions regarding PIR sensors, but that Isn't for this post. PLEASE do not question the upgrade - just trust it is needed (and I do have a professional I consult, however even he is unsure on this issue). I am wondering - if the system is grade 3, is it still allowed to be a fire alarm system or am I required to disconnect the smoke detectors, and install a separate fire alarm system? Many thanks for your input, John

  8. Hi i want to remove the 8 smoke alarms I have wire to the system, they are long out of date and want to replace them with standalone smoke alarms. i will need to disconnect them from the alarm panel and most likely from the program via the keypad. i have the engineer code, wonder if it’s obvious where the smoke alarm connections would be as a starting point. thanks PS the alarm manual says the smoke detectors at zones 12-16 inclusive

Hi all, System is a Eurosec CPX. Looking at replacing the Eurosec V40 PIR sensors. What's a reliable replacement with built in selectable resistors? Currently there are 5 PIR. Kitchen, Lounge, Hall, Landing and garage. No pets roaming about. Thanks for the help. Cheers, James

Hello I’ve been installing a Honeywell Galaxy G2 44+ at home recently, the system consists of 2x prox keypads & 2x Power RIO’s. The system has been running stable for a few weeks (with fire zones) and after being away for a week I thought that I’d get the intruder side configured and up and running. The day I get back from being away I come across an odd fault with one of the keypads where after going through a few menu items the keypad display goes blank momentarily, then comes back. This is followed by the first line of of display becoming a row of black squares (as pictured) If I power cycle everything this resolves the issue un…

  13. I live in a block of flats on the 4th floor and want to install a LED floodlight triggered by a narrow angle movement sensor. There is a parking lot in front of the block and the installation height is around 10m. Can you recommend a movement sensor to detect people walking downstairs but not across the entire parking lot. Also what floodlight wattage would be sufficient for 10m height? There are 100,200,400,500,800,1000W on Amazon. Thank you.

Hi I was wondering if anyone could provide some insight as I have 2 Risco iwise pirs that I tried to set up to use the greenline thing ie to disable the microwave when unset but I’m wondering if it’s a Risco panel Riscobus only (in this case I’m using a galaxy panel) feature as one of the pirs is now flashing the red led occasionally with a solid green led does anyone know what this means. thanks

hello all, i've just moved into a new property which has a chubb alarm installed. Chubb will not provide me with the code without signing up to a contract. The panel looks exactly the same as the pyronix enforcer but with a chubb logo on. My question is, can i just swap this panel with a new pyronix enforcer panel or is there a better way. Thanks for your help
