Hi guys, I've purchased myself a simple access control system and I'm fairly confident I know what I need to do. The power leads appear to not matter how they are connected (which does to + and -, as long as they are connected). One thing I want to check before I start is what type of wire I should be using to connect the components. The "Power Supply Control" is a K80 (see attached picture). The device will be outputting 12v DC (3A). I know this is not much different from the alarm system I installed a year or two ago, but I am unsure if I can use the same cable. The alarm cable is 8 core cable, so presumably I would slice it open and us…

  2. Hi, I wanted to install a security alarm, my partner decided a telecom model would be best as he has installed a wired one before. HOWEVER, the one we purchased was a Hybrid model with the expander and a telecom connect box...here's where my problems start, he appears to have connected everything up including the keypad, but when we get to learning the wireless PIR, door contacts etc nothing seems to be working either using the texeconnect app or the keypad itself?? I am in tears and my partner is ready to rip it off the wall with his bare hands...Can anyone please provide some guidance that doesn't mean you have to be a genius with a guidebook to understand?? PLEAS…

Hi Folks. we have resently taken over a tea rooms with 4 door sensors and 2 pir. the control is a EUROSEC CP8L LCD. There is a problem with the pir in the back room going off more frequently. this would seem to be low backup battery or faulty pir. Can I open up the control and replace the battery and at the same time replace the pir? I dont know if there is an internal tamper alarm, Do you? Barry And Debs

Hi there, I'm adding an SMS dialer thats triggered by applied negative to my euro mini panel. I've wired it to the panel and seems fine. There are two triggers, I'm using one for confirmed intruder and the other for mains fail. The intruder trigger works fine but the mains fail doesn't. If I generate the mains fail in the 'test output' section the relay triggers and I receive a text, I've also checked with a multimeter and the panel doesn't actually apply the negative. Reading the manual, in the 'output type' section , it says it'll generate a mains fail after a pre set timer. Only thing is, there is no where to find this timer! On the…

Hi all, I installed my own Eurosec CPX back in 2010 with: FSL wiring 4 PIR (Hall, Lounge, Kitchen, Landing) 2 YEND21 contacts in series (Porch and front door) 2 YEND21 contacts (Rear garage door and rear lounge door) 1 REED switch (Garage door) RKP GTAG In 2015 the YEND21 fitted to the lounge rear door started playing up. On part set it would trigger the alarm in the early hours. Replaced this and it's been fine up until last week where the alarm starting to chime telling me rear lounge door was open when it wasn't. Replacement YEND24 v2 was ordered and fitted... This time the alarm was not …

Guys, Cut along story short I am in the process of finishing off somebody else's installation (don't you just love those ones) I have three wireless keypads, the first two setup in seconds and work fine, the third doesn't want to play ball, I noticed that on this keypad box it says only works with v3.1 software and above, the panel is running V3.02, so I am guessing this is the issue, sods law two of the keypads were brought together at a later time, the other box has been thrown by the owner so I cannot check if that had the same sticker on, pretty certain this is the issue unless anybody knows of anything else. Cheers Gaz

I have a Honeywell Le Sucre system. It has been reliable for many months but has started giving false alarms. No alarm sensor is activated and no email is sent (as is the case for a genuine alarm), but the sirens on the keypads and the external bell sounds for 3 minutes. The only thing that I have noted is that after a false alarm the bottom right icon on the prox tag sensor lights up if a tag is swiped. This icon shows a thermometer and waves. I do not have a flood/temperature sensor fitted. Any ideas?

  8. After some great advice on this thread: I now have the unit wired up, turned on, all faults cleared and the unit powered on with the time and date set, not much to others I'm sure but a minor milestone to me! :0) Finally got a day without work/kids/life steamrolling over any free time so going to try and get the configuration done today. En game is: 2 'Set' options (one for everything active when we are out if the house, one for downstairs when we are in bed) 3 Users created 3 Keyprox Tags assigned to the users Change passcodes for Standard 'User' and 'Engineer' users Ethernet module configured to access internet, DDNS se…

So after installing my first alarm ever at home last week, I went to our flat to check it over for a new Tennant coming in and the Texecom Alarm (Fitted in 2005 when flat was new) was beeping constantly (double beep every few seconds). Feeling confident from my recent alarm fiddlings I decided to open it up to take a look and see if there was anything obvious. Found that the battery was from 2005 so went to Screwfix assuming it had failed and fitted a new one (exact same spec). Still beeping. Upon inspection it seems to have blown the fuse to the Battery, but I've never seen fuses like this before. Pics below. Does anyone have a part code or what I should sea…

  10. Hi All Taking a look at the following; Pyronix - 2mp hd1080p indoor wi-fi cube camera Pyronix - 2mp hd1080p indoor wi-fi dome camera Would just like a simple add on camera to my Pyronix alarm set up/use with the HomeControl+ App. Question I cannot seem to find an answer for, is do either/both of these options record motion when triggered? either to the on board SD or cloud? and no need for DVR etc. Similar functionality to https://www.swann.com/uk/swwhd-indcam I guess but utilising the existing Pyronix system/App. Thanks in advance.

  11. Hi All Has anyone encountered the following issue? any advice would be really appreciated. Detector = KX10DTP-WE This detector has been previously used in our old garage before demolition and was deleted from the alarm system. Using new batteries I’ve tried to reinstate it in the new location, learning the device goes to plan and I use the existing Input as it shows available (after previous deletion). When I carry out diagnostics with the detector next to the control panel I get 0 for signal strength and R for battery strength, puzzled! Thanks in advance

I've recently got an existing installation working for a neighbour, thanks so much for your previous help! However, the only thing not working is the B setting, put code in, press B = Zone Fault 2 and the alarm makes a loud horn noise. It's fine when it's set in A setting. Any clues? I have Zone 2 as 'ER abcd' | Zone 2 is the PIR setting to be activated when coming down the stairs.

Hello, I'm helping a neighbour with an existing installation, the wires have been ripped out of the bellbox, I've connected the siren, however I'm struggling to locate the other wires. I've attached PCB wires to help conversion. Would anyone be able to assist? I've connected as best I can and I receive 'bell tamper' error however tried resetting through engineers menu and it's not working, therefore I believe it's wired wrong. Please help. 14. Hi All,Hoping someone is familiar with the Honeywell Galaxy Flex 20 System?Ive purchased one to fit at the new house as its something I have had an interest in..... However, I might have bitten off more than I can chew!I have 3 different wiring instructions from the panel instructions, PIR instructions and general alarm fitting guide. Im trying to validate I have the correct PIR wiring method before wiring up the 10 PIR's! The PIR's are DT8012F5's with 6 terminals. From what I can work out the PIR's should be wired as the image I have drawn. Can someone just confirm before I spend the day wiring them up wrong!
