Hi, I have an Accenta 8 alarm that was installed by the previous house owners. We haven't used the alarm in years and recently when we had a couple of power cuts the alarm sounded (it wasn't set to be on). When the power returned the alarm stoped but the keypad isn't operating properly - their is light behind the number keys but neither the 'power' nor the 'day' leds are lit up. I have read around this (and other) forums to try to work out what to do and it sounds like it may be that the battery in the main box is faulty and could possibly have damaged other parts of the system? The alarm hasn't been serviced in many years. One thing I …

I have an existing (old school) Optima alarm panel with 2 zones (wired PIR's + contact points). I am looking to replace the panel with a simple alarm panel (no smart/wireless PIR inputs needed). I am looking for it to have the ability to arm/disarm using a remote control or a key fob. (The alarm will be used by elderly people, so the key fob/remote should be much easier than entering the code each time). Any thoughts on a suitable simple systems are welcome.

Hi I have this installed in my property before I moved in 4 years ago. The installed main control panel is a GardTec GT595 with a wired contact on the garage door and then wireless contacts and PIR motion sensors in the rest of the property. There is software available for the GardTec product that will enable me to view the alarm remotely however the installing company no longer support the Gardtec range of equipment. Therefore I would like this to be serviced that enable me to get alarm on me and my wife's mobile phone please and I would appreciate if you could send me your quote. Regards Khagendra Limbu

Hi. Every so often I get the above message on my risco gt 600. Is there a way to temporarily stop it from blaring out? Even in engineer mode it still goes off internally and externally. It also chirps for a second every so often without giving a message which I assume is telling me the back up battery needs replacing?? I know it needs to be seen to but don't want to spend any money on it as willbr getting a new one soon. Hopefully there might be a setting? Or just disconnect the cable from the control unit??? Ta.

I've just installed a texecom 64-w panel with smartcom. SmartCom seems good, but I'd prefer to have signalling equipment installed as in my opinion it should be more reliable. I'm looking for call or text notifications to keyholders if the alarm goes off. I've considered comGSM, however before I purchase I want to see if I can use dual path signalling equipment available, for reliability. Do any ARCs sell equipment and services directly to end users? To the best of my knowledge most will not. Is there any dual path signalling equipment out there that does not need to be connected to an ARC to work? The house is located in France. …

Hi, I have recently took a plunge on replacing my Galaxy 60 panel with a Flex 100 containing an ethernet module & RF portal and a GPRS modem (not sure what I'm going to do with that bit). It was an Ebay purchase and was / is brand new but sold as used as it had been configured already. I have connected it up to an MK7 keypad but after power up (battery first then mains) the keypad just carries on displaying the row of stars and then the built in dialler relay on the panel goes nuts, as if mimicking a bleeper. I have tried various keypad addresses to no avail. Have I bought a dud panel or is there something I should be doing on power up that I am clearly not do…

I have a self installed Scantronic/Eaton I-ON40 panel and KPZ01. Trying to get the app to work (Android phone), I get a "network error" message when I select PAIR APP on the menu. The network is connected (DHCP) since I can access the panel through it's IP address and the keypad menu shows normal network connection with the IP address etc. Since the panel is clearly connected, what other settings to I need to check to resolve the "network error" when trying to pair the app for the first time. Many thanks in advance, the Eaton manuals are a little sparse in the networking side of things.
