Hi guys I hope someone can help. I fitted the visonic alarm 2 years ago and it's been working fine. I'm now wanting to arm it when I got to bed. I never set home mode before so never had this problem. This is how my sensors are defined. Front door contact sensor - Exit/entry Back door contact sensor - perimeter Dining room - perimeter Living room - perimeter Kitchen - perimeter Upstairs landing (corner pointed down towards the stairs and front door) delay 1 Bedroom 1 - interior Bedroom 2 - interior I'm scratching my head on what zone to assign to the upstairs landing. It is set to delay 1 because when arming the alarm would trigger as it would detect me…

I have a Premier 48 (not Elite) with the ComIP that has been running for a few years. I tried to connect to Wintex but got a connection problem so I started some troubleshooting. 1) In the router modem, I found that the ComIP was not being assigned an IP. Eventually restarting the panel solved the problem and now it has an ip address 192.168.1.66 2) If I ping 192.168.1.66 it seems fine Pinging 192.168.1.66 with 32 bytes of data: Reply from 192.168.1.68: Destination host unreachable. Hi, I have a Visonic Powermax Pro alarm system and some days ago the lcd display of the control unit is getting the error "S01 inattività" and the warning led (yellow) is active. When I click on the button of the control unit to display furthers details, it seems there is not a specific reason of that. I can enable and disable the alarm. When I try to troubleshoot in the diagnostic menu, powermax control unit says for each sensor area "Non OK", but there is not any Low battery message displayed. When I exit from the menu, the warning led of the control unit disappears. The day after, in the first hours of the morning, the warning led appears again. Is ther…

Hi, Can I just ask a couple of quick questions please? Obviously you use 2.5mm T&E cable to the FCU which feeds the alarm control panel, but: What cable comes from the FCU to the control panel? If it's going to be plain old 1mm T&E can I use 1.5mm without any probs (I have a load of this!)? Should a 1.5amp or 3amp fuse be used in the FCU? Should the FCU be unswitched? Many thanks in advance.

Hi, No doubt this has been asked just a few times before, but I’m wondering – on a generic level – where to put PIRs. I’ve read up a little and people say avoid facing windows, avoid drafts, avoid above radiators, avoid facing radiators, etc. That seems to discount almost all options in my eyes. Imagine a square room with a window on one side and a radiator on any of the other three sides. Two corners will have the window in sight, and all four corners are either going to be facing the radiator or be “above” it almost. Or is all this rubbish nowadays. Does it matter if a PIR is on the same wall as a radiator but is 1+ metre to the side of it (and obviously…

Hi all I have an abacus 6p led display in my unit. It's around 20 years old and never had a problem. Following a massive power cut it is coming up with error zone 6b. The issue is I don't have a 6b. I have a zone 6 (360 dtec) but not a 6b. The system is regularly maintained and has never had an issue. Any ideas what 6b is?

Hi guys, Our local cricket club cctv system has packed in and the installer is not available to repair so we've decided to try fix it ourselves. I ordered an h view dvr box from ebay [Edit - no links please, generic bargain bucket 16 way analogue dvr] The new box done the trick and works with the old cameras and we now want to add a few more. The problem is they will need 100m cables from the box to the camera. They come supplied with 20m cables so I've been doing some reading and read the best option is cat5 cable with baluns. Going to give it a go but I'm just wondering is there anything I need to be aware of?

I know this probably depends on how many times it goes off, but on average how long do you think a X/W Odyssey from Texecomm would last on a set of batteries? Thanks.

hi everyone I'm new to this forum and I really need some help, I recently bought a solar powered wireless perimeter alarm with pironix GSM auto dialler x 2 x1000m beams.it was supposed to be easy and fast to install but its a nightmare with naff instructions. the problem I'm having is connecting the pyronix V2GSM auto dialler (which don't have a power supply)to the RF receiver (which does have a power supply). ((( in theory the solar powered beam (that will cover from one corner of the property to another)should detect anyone crossing the beam,it should then send a signal to the RF receiver which in turn sends the signal to the auto dial…
