Hi Need some help. My panel flashed +BAT MIS today. First time its ever shown this and I looked up advice and it suggests a faulty battery. I have the engineering code etc and pretty conversant with what to do to change the battery however I don;t know which battery to buy? The manual suggests a 12v 7amh battery with a plastic box and 12v 17amh for a metal box? When reading the installation guide on connecting the battery is says a min can be 12v 7amh but when reading the Honeywell site it says for a 2-20 you need 12v 12amh min? What minimum should I use? I see Screwfix has 7amh but I have to search wider to find a 12amh. The current battery in…

  3. Hi everyone Would really appreciate your advice. I have a Texecom premier 24 installed at home, which has served me very well, but was a pain to install 5 years ago when I put it in. I have a bunch of IR and magnetic sensors all wired up around the house with the standard keypad etc. So I now fancy an upgrade, I would like to minimize additional wiring and reuse all exiting wired sensors, so the question is what should I upgrade to (Texecom or other), and what would be required to do your recommended upgrade? Would love to have a system that can be configured with a decent PC interface, and one that is able to send me e-mail notifications etc.. something using up…

hi I have a pyronix euro 46lm and was wanting to connect the deltabell plus to it I have connected it according to the image that is attached and everything works fine but when the panel is in engineer mode and the tamper is activated on the siren there is no way to silence it.

Hi, I’m ordering all my gear tonight (based around Texecom Richocet Elite 48-W) and will be utilising the hard-wired zones for upstairs. The more I read up about it all, I can see the obvious benefits of wired over wireless, but alas my situation calls for both. Therefore, I’m going to have 3 or 4 wired PIRs upstairs, in bedrooms and in the hallway. I hope in the future I can expand to more wired zones on that unit… As I’m getting 8 core cable, I’ll run two cables up from the control panel and wire up 2 PIRs on each, CCL style. I have some questions please: 1. As I’ll have these two cables to wire up at the control panel, when it comes to the tamper cir…

Hi. Just a quick question if I may. I'm looking to fit one tight up against my soffit but before I order one I see that it seems to be hinged at the top. Has anyone fitted one of these? If so could you tell me whether I can fit the cover without having to hinge it from the top? I was hoping to drop the cable through the soffit. Ta!

  8. Hello all I am new here and I am so pleased that I have found this website on the internet because I am desperate for some help on a Texecom system. Basically I am looking for an installer who can install a Texecom Premier Elite system in a new build for me. But after contacting 15 different local and nearby alarm companies and none of them shows any interest of installing the system. I am kind of confused and frustrated... The system that I have got here contains the following components: 1 x Texecom Premier Elite 24 Control Panel (polycarbonate case) 1 x Texecom Premier Elite LCDP RKP with proximity reader 1 x Texecom Premier COM2400 Communicator 3 x Tex…

Alrite guys and girls, I have recently installed a Honeywell Galaxy G2-12 panel with 5 sensors. Everything seems to be working fine but I have now been asked to install two of the following sound bombs; Quad Piezo Siren Sounder/Sound Bomb for Alarm SystemsI have now hit a brick wall as need to connect these two up. I was wondering whether anyone knows where the two cables go. There is a black(negative) and red (positive) go. Please help and thanks in advance.

I know that for the cost of these things it's probably not worth asking but.... I assume the double as opposed to the quad piezo sound bomb is still loud enough? Is there much difference to them? Also, do I just wire these up to the external sounder terminals? Ta! Terminals on the main panel that is!!

Hi. Please bear with me. I'm getting a telecom premier elite 48w which has I think 4 areas and many more zones. I assume you can set each zone independantly ie entry, walk through etc. what is the point of areas therefore? Like I said, please bear with me! I'm sure it will become obvious soon enough

Hi, I've been reading this forum for a while now and am impressed. The level of help for DIYers is very good. I'm a DIYer who made the ultimate mistake! I re-wired the whole house (all overseen and signed off, don't worry!), completely re-plumbed, had ceilings down, moved walls, plastered everything etc, and only then thought about installing an alarm. A complete nupty mistake, but there you go. Something to remember for next time. Anyway, my parents got burgled a few months ago and co-inidentally my next door had an alarm put in around the same time. These are what got me thinking about putting an alarm in. I have a budget of around £300 (ish!). Thanks to Cy…

Hello, Its a while since i installed my last alarm, a basic 8 zone with a couple of PIR's and magnetics. I'm now in process of moving to a larger property which will need 5 magnetics and 6 PIR's. whilst I recall you could have latching PIR's on the same zone, I'd prefer to have a 12 zone (or higher) panel so I can keep the PIR's seperate. I've seen the Honeywell Galaxy series, and just wonder ignoring all the 'extras' these seem to have, are they as simple to wire up as the 'standard' 8 zone panels..... thanks OG

Am new to the forums ) Hi!!! -- Is it me or are all (in my option) home alarms installed without maximum security in mind? Let me explain; Door Contacts only trigger after the door is open and PIRs only trigger after someone is in the house, shouldn't an Alarm be before an intruder has entered? For example; my home Alarm is door contacts with Shock Sensors, so if someone is trying to break in with any type of force the Alarm is triggered before entry has been gained. I also have GLX Vipers (shock Sensors) on all Windows and pet friendly PIRs in the home, this allows to Dogs to patrol without triggering the Alarm went we are asleep or out - therefore the pe…
