Sorry for the late reply, I went to the house today as I've not moved in yet. I went into zone attributes and zone 1 was on test which is also the entry exit zone. I took it off test and all is good. 

 

One thing I don't understand is why it wasn't wired as eol as it seems much better.

How did you ascertain by simply taking it off test its fine? Maybe it's intermittent
