Hi folks, The alarm in my house has a 6 wire system, its old and needs a new panel, keyboard and outside sounder. I was thinking about the Scantronic i-on40H Hybrid Control Panel. I like the look of their keypad and sounder too Will this be compatible with 6 wire sensors ? Thanks in advance

Some free time again so back onto the Alarm. I seem to have everything working on the main panel now and have been setting the alarm for a week or so, no issue! Now I want to add the RIO expander to put the extra door contacts in. I have fitted it and wired the RIO back to the Lfex on the same terminals as the KeyPad, I have a flashing green light on the RIO now, but cannot see anything that it has recognised the RIO or any extra zones in the zones menu? Any ideas?

Quick question: I need to replace the front panel of the remote keypad on an Optima Plus system. If I put the system into Engineer mode first, will the anti-tamper switch be disabled? (I don't want to set the whole thing off!) Thanks Tim

Hi, i have been having problems with my alarm triggering, it says sensor 3 which is a PIR sensor in teb kitchen. Ive had a look and cant see anything obvious, its been fitted for years by the looks of it. Anyway i covered it and set the alarm and it was still tripping ever 20 or 30 mins, so I put this down to a faulty sensor. The original are Texcom Veritas PIR sensors, and i purchased a Honeywell PIR sensor as a replacement. The I.D and wiring on the old Texcom terminals went: A = Brown B = Orange C = Red D = Black E = blue 1 F = blue 2 The new Honeywell goes: T2 = T1 = NC = C = V -…

Good afternoon. Can anyone tell me if it is possible to change the the text displayed on Scantronic i-onG2SM RKP during a (fire) alarm to indicate the zone with having to enter the user code? I can't find anything on this in the configuration guide, but I'm hoping there is something I've missed. Thanks, Mark

Hello. Please can someone suggest a wired mains powered bell box that I can use on my powermaster pm33. I have an expander module. I used to have a mc30 AC bell box linked to my powermax system which was ok but still requires back up battery and is wireless. I have decided it's time to upgrade to a powermaster pm33 hence my question. Thanks in advance

Hello, I've got a new house and I'm planning to fit a premier elite 48 pannel to the house and then run a data cable through existing ducting under ground to the separate garrage block. In there I was going to install a psu200xp and dual tech sensors to the expander. But I was wondering if I could fit a op16 and have it trigger a bell box if the panel is triggered. Has anyone done this. I know you could wire it as a scb from the panel but wondered if I could wire the remote bell box as a sab using the 200xp and op16? Thanks in advance.

Hi all, wondering if you guys can help. I’m looking to swap out my bell box for a new one. I have a Honeywell Galaxy 2 system, with from what I can see an unbranded bell box. I have put the system into Engineer Mode, but the tamper on the bell box keeps sounding the siren. I have tried removing power supply to the bell box, and also connecting the strobe to 0v in order to activate the Engineer Hold Off. Or so I thought. Both resulted in the alarm sounding. I was under the impression that engineer mode was supposed to mute all tampers? I have attached a couple of pictures, if anyone could advise how to mute the tampers on the bell…

Back on the Stable install, all up & working & the false triggers we were getting with the old alarm have no stopped, so it appears it may have been faulty or some of the wiring was, but not bad it lasted over 30 year, good Yorkshire's monies worth. The new issue/problem/challenge is to get the panel to talk out to the world, there's no Landline available so it logically has to be GSM, seen a few cheap GSM Diallers but they only appear to support 2G which is redundant, does anyone know of a reasonably costed 4G unit, I know reasonably is a relative term & you professional installers can charge businesses £400 for one as it goes through the books, b…

Hi all, Backstory Recently I approached my alarm guy (not sure of the exact terminology! Engineer?), he inherited the system as he didn't install it, for a service on my existing system. An appointment was booked however no show on the day nor no phone call back when leaving a message. Another reminder a few days later and a day later he arrived and carried out a service. He always knew I wanted to upgrade as my garage, as it stands, is currently unprotected. Him and I got talking and discussed all of the potential options on the table in terms of this however since the house side trunking, that runs between the house and the garage, was nowhere …

Thank you in advance for the great assistance always given on this forum. On my Texecom Elite 168 I have a blue status LED outside my house that indicates that my alarm is armed, or flashes if it was put into an alarm state. I asked my local installer to fit another LED inside my house to prevent false alarms by someone opening the door while the alarm is armed. The LED I bought was a red 12V DC LED (The red is easier on the eye at night) The local installed arrived, pulled the wire and then told me that it can't be done with my LED, you can't have a red and blue LED at the same time and they left. I don't know how to wire the LED, s…

Hi folks, The long version of this is that the batteries in one or more of the various wireless devices had gone flat - I was in the process of ordering / changing. We'd been having to manually override the alarm on the panel to set because of this. I think my wife has managed to mute the internal piezo sounder or turn the volume down to almost zero with a combination of key presses i did not witness and she does not remember. You can hear it chirping away very very faintly. I should add that the keypad chimes are at their normal volume. I've changed all the wireless device batteries, just in the process of getting the internal BBU on the conso…

A quick question. I opened my control panel (HKC SW10 70) and noticed I just get a repeated beep. Without trawling through the installation manual, can anyone tell me the menu option for to enable the internal sounder for tamper events? Also, is activation of the sounder per each tamper on zone, or does it have to be either on/off globally for all tampers?

Just spent the last couple of hours interacting with the MSP for my alarm's SIM regarding login. I always seem to have this problem when I try to access my account, then I have to explain to them that I can't receive password reset codes because the SIM is in an alarm.

Hello, I've got a Honeywell dimension 48 panel and I would like to upgrade the firmware for it. Previously I've just been able to download whatever I've needed from the FTP links on: https://www.security.honeywell.com/uk/resources/technical-support/software-upgrades/galaxy-software-download-centre But now it seems to time out as if it needs a username/password. Does anyone know if the FTP site is still working, or do I now need credentials to connect? Thanks
