  1. Hi, 8 years ago I installed a Honeywell Galaxy G2-20 (including a RIO and a couple of wireless PIRs) and have enjoyed faultless service from it until recently. I now regularly (3 or 4 times a day) get an RF Jam error. Any ideas what the cause could be and what I can do about it? I've read the manual and other than configuring the 'stop set' to allow you to set the alarm with the fault condition unacknowledged I can't see any settings which might help Thanks in advance, Binney

Hi guys I'm having my house pointed and have 2 active wireless bell boxes to remove, the engineer says disconnect the battery but once they are unscrewed from the wall the alarm will go off so I have to lay them on their back and put a decent weight on top as they have a pressure device (anti) tamper) that goes against the wall then I have to put in my 4 digit code and press NO so that's OK for the removal does anyone know how to refit the boxes I suppose it's just fasten them back to the wall and they will start to go off so once secure put in your 4 digit code maybe with YES at the end, me email is REMOVED if anyone can advise further, thanks

Hi, So i have a very basic Prog 3 setup. It literally covers Zone 1 (front door) and that is it. I used to have it that at night, I would set Prog 3, it would arm and I would sleep peacefully. ? Anyway...long story short, I was fiddling about with it a while ago, trying to make it simpler for a friend of ours to use Prog 1 (whilst we were on holiday) and I reckon i've messed up Prog 3. The only way i can get Prog 3 to work is to ensure it has an exit mode, which is currently set to 'timed'. It used to be disabled, and on reading all the manuals, even the default is set to disabled. Any idea as to why this won't work when set to 'disabled'. …

Hello, our has has a 9448+ control unit and a 9227 keypad. It was all fitted by previous home owner. We are extending the house and will have another door, and we would like a keypad there. Do I wire it into the same four connectors on the 9448+? I’ve already set the address jumper in the new unit, and I’ve already added a door sensor and connected it as an entry/exit device, I just have the keypad left to do. many thanks.

Apologies if this is in the wrong place. New here but will be having a good look around as there a few jobs on my list which I'm sure the info here will help with. I'm looking for some recommendations, I want to install a basic house alarm and cameras. When I say basic, I'm thinking a couple of door contacts, maybe a passive or two in shed and bike store and two cameras. The cameras would be located to look down the front drive and the other down the side of the house to look at the back/bike storage.I'm pretty handy and can set up tech but I'm lost on the best options. The yale system looks pretty good for the price, but are the cameras ok? Any local storage o…

Hello All. I was wondering if someone can advise or guide me. On my previous powermax system, whenever I armed away or disarmed, there was a voice alert to give me the system system status. Also when I armed away there were countdown beeps. Is there a way I can do that with my powermaster pm33 panel? I cant seem to find the option anywhere. You help will be much appreciated.

Hello All. Firstly thank you very much for helping on this forum. i have learnt alot. I am currently installing a new visonic alarm system with VISONIC 0-1274-0 PIRs. I was wondering if someone can point to me where i should be positioning my PIRs. For the living room i was considering position D as its not pointing directly at the window and away from the radiator. For the open plan kitchen, i am a bit stuck for the best place due to windows, the patio door and the radiators. please can someone suggest if placing at 1 is the best location or should 3. 3 is within the 12m range of the PIR but i am not sure how accurate it would be given the pr…

Hi, I have a problem with an Accenta LCD RKP. Whilst on holiday the power tripped and eventually the alarm battery drained. On resetting the power I have the alarm system back up and running however the LCD display on both remote keypads is showing black squares. The keypad itself and alarm system appear to work fine but obviously with no functioning display. This setup is simply a mini G4 with 2 LCD Keypads. Hopefully there is a simple fix but I’ve not come across this before. Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Richard

  15. I'm a little confused trying to figure out how the G3 control panel works... So, you have a spring which is designed to detect when the control panel has been opened and trigger the alarm. However, within the control panel you also have a battery which, if I've understood correctly, powers the entire system, so this can just be yanked out, rendering the tamper alarm fairly useless.
