  1. I'm still kicking ideas around. I want to have the intruder alarm with CCTV recorder in one building, then in another where the CCTV cameras, some PIR's and door switches. Extending the network via a wireless bridge for the CCTV cameras is easy enough, but not sure how to overcome trying to send signals back to the other building from the intruder detectors (without cables). Is there a box of tricks to convert the on/off signals from the intruder detectors via the wireless bridge and back to on/off signals for the intruder alarm? Or is there such a system out there for CCTV and intruder alarms all inside the same box using the network system? As usual, t…

  2. My workshop doors are not a precision fit to the frames, there's a bit of movement in the wind. All the door contacts I've seen are for well fitted domestic doors, are there any door contacts out there that have a less precision activation please? As always, thanks for any useful information and ideas ?

Hi Ive been living in a property since 2010 which has the above alarm system installed. All the houses on the estate (buit 2000) where fitted with this system and an ADT siren/monitoring service from new. At some point before we purchased the property the monitoring service was cancelled and a different bell box fitted. Even though over the last few years the display on the key pad has dissapeared we where still able to arm / disarm the system, and have had no false triggers. After a recent 5 min powercut however the system will no longer arm. we have had a series of powercuts over a few years and the alarm has always w…

  4. What is the advantage of using CAT6 cable over CAT5 for an IP camera system please" Also at what sort of length run should I be concerned about voltage drop please? I don't think my runs will exceed 40, possibly 50 metres? Again to run IP cameras. Thanks again for any useful comments ?

Be nice please. ? There seems to be numerous Wireless CCTV kits on the UK market, and loads more elsewhere. Who do you advise to run with and who should I really avoid please? I'm probably looking at 4 cameras (with room for expansion on the recorder). I've not yet seen any kits with a camera door bell, whats the best route for this please? As usual, thanks in advance for any useful information ? ?

Re: Zxtech Onyx 16 Channel 8-PoE Ports 8MP 4K CCTV High Definition Network Recorder What is thi circled terminal block for please? ...There's no mention of it in the instruction that I've found, hence asking. Thanks again for any useful comments ?

Be nice. Is there any recorders out there that has the capability of using wired an wireless cameras please? Why, around the building where the recorder will be sited, is easy enough to use wireless cameras, however the other building is too car away for any sort of WiFi signal, so thinking a dual input recorder would be the answer. I don't wish to have a second recorder in the remote building. Thanks in advance for anything useful ?

  8. I bought my panel back in 1998ish. I installed all the cabling, but never got around to installing the alarm panel. I'm now preparing to finish the job! I've been in touch with Challenger who were no help what so ever ? they're saying its obsolete, so can't (wont) help. I'd like to fit a remote keypad to the main panel. What was the original part number for this keypad please? And.. are there any alternatives I can use please? Secondly, I'm assuming I can fit any PIR with the same termination (12 volt power, Tamper, Relay contact)? Thanks in advance for any useful help ?

  9. Hi all, I have a Galaxy 60 with an ADT bell box that was presumed faulty as it would not trigger on an alarm state. I purchased another ADT box which is a newer model. When swapped over the new bell box will not stop ringing. Connections are:- H+ to 12v H- to 0v TS to H- TR to T R- to Bell I have tried cutting/replacing the coloured links for 0 ohm and 1k but fault is the same. Bell terminal is putting out 7v with 0v in alarm state. Voice dialler is also working fine. The panel gives 1004 Aux Tamp error. (Battery and H+ were connected when testing) …

I have just moved into a new house and they have fitted a Veritas alarm system. The system works well as designed but is lacking some features that I would like to add: 1. Keyfob enable/disable 2. Remote inform - Preferably over Internet not SMS. It appears that the Premier Elite is the system that would be needed to enable the above. The two things I was wondering were: 1. Can I remove the Veritas hub and install the Premier using the sensors that are already deployed round the house? 2. Can I retrofit a module to the Veritas to add in the Internet side of things & replace thekeypad to the elit/fob based keypad

  11. Hi all, I have some experience with Texecom but none with Honeywell and have just inherited a Galaxy system in a property that I have taken over. The alarm seems to be stuck in engineer mode. The error shown when trying to exit engineer mode is RIO 102 AC FAIL. There does seem to be an expansion panel at the other side of the building which I believe may be RIO 102? I was told by the previous tenant that I can still use the system in engineer mode and it does seem to arm ok but when I try to trigger the alarm it just beeps with the entry noise indefinitely and the siren will not sound. The display will then show that the alarm was triggered. Any help is appreciated. T…

Hello! Moved in to house, with this alarm that appears faulty, the fuse for the alarm is down, when it's flicked up the alarm sounds. We were not provided with the code! Is there any way to reset it completely without the code? Any clue why it's would be sounding the alarm as soon as it's powered on, or is that a very silly question! The TA light is on too Many thanks

I have successfully installed my FX100+ system, and have a Mk7 prox pad which I'd like to use with fobs. I have read the manual and am a little bit confused on the setup. Here's what the setup looks like in the RSS software. I am a little unsure on a few areas. Under access control, which Menu Option would I choose? In the manual entry (below) it appears to say that when a user is using a fob they shouldn't have a PIN? I am unsure if I have placed the fob tag number in the correct location? Here's the fob I am trying to get working... As this is my first fob setup I have no doubt I am m…
