June 10, 201312 yr Author comment_326772 its not the wine, i dont buy anything french .... them. Didnt think parts are that dear on a bmw. The tyres might be expensive though I think it depends what breaks, and yes tyres probably a bit expensive. Other thing to watch out for is the DPF, these can clog if you only drive around town, make sure to give it a good blast regularly. amealing@texe.com Head of Industry Affairs Visit Our Website Texecom Link to comment https://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/community/topic/34742-fixing-my-sons-car/page/2/#findComment-326772 Share on other sites Share on LinkedIn Share on X Share on Facebook {lang="reddit_text" Share via email Share on Pinterest
 June 10, 201312 yr comment_326820 DPF can be blanked and programmed out, DMF are also an issue on some modern diesels, had one done under warranty on a Vectra and it should have cost £1300.00 (dealer prices obv) This was the wife's French car, had to strip to this to replace the heater resistor pack... Took ages, along with the skin off my arms and hands. All for this... Edited June 10, 201312 yr by norman Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool.
