I have been told that everyone who wants to work as a security service engineer will have to have a NVQ level 3 if they want to work as a service engineer. I have been told this comes into play in about 6 years time. I have got a city & guilds knowledge of security and emergency alarm systems. Does anyone know if this is true and I will have to get a NVQ ?

Hi guys, been a while, how's it all going then? Was away for a weekend and saw this interesting dome camera. As you can see it has 3 objectives, can't quite make out the company logo, looks like three slanted slashes. Anybody know anything about these? Otherwise is something in the air, is Hd-SDI finally coming of age? ADI seem to be flogging off anything and everything to do with standard analogue stuff.

On an PD6662/EN50131 system, if the system is activated followed by a tamper, would it send an intruder, followed by confirmed, or intruder then tamper? I think confirmed, but I'd like to be sure as I have a grading exam tomorrow. !

Program 1 sensor for 1st zone (Room 1) b. Program 1 sensor for 2nd zone (Room 2) c. Program final sensor 3rd zone (This will be the final door / exit zone) d. Program the EXIT time for leaving. e. Program the ENTRY time for entering. 5. For each of the steps above what is the programming sequence. i.e. 22# etc. 6. If somebody can spend briefly no more than 10 mins I would be grateful. 7. It is time it went. One rule for everyone, EN50131 only, sick of the British PD's. They are stupid, arranged just to show they are actually doing something and are actually counter productive to security. Time you went with a big boot lodged securely up your arses....

Been meaning to post this for a while, I went to a job fitted by a company we bought out to remove a load of vibration detectors ready for the customer to have new windows/doors fitted. Anyway as im going around removing them all I get to the rear door that the customer informs me that the detector is a vibration and contact at first I didnt think much of it but was a bit surprised as I had never seen a Gardtec Shockguard with a built in contact so I open it up to find this!
