Got called out to this today. Bell faulty and 15 min cut out not working. Removed power and had to leave on battery. God knows how long before that runs out. Told customer to call sign people out so we can access our bell. Can't believe how thick some people can be installing that sign over bell box.

  2. The main problem with wireless alarms such as powermax in my eyes is that you only get 2 wired zones. Now will visonic continue to manufacture compatible detectors for this system in the future? what if they don't? If a customer on the other hand had a honeywell galaxy 2 wireless system, then there's no problems as this system is also compatible with wired detectors and you can also double balance them In my eyes there seems to be to many people pushing out wireless systems now days but not thinking about what will happen in say the next 3-4 years?

Evening All, As title, has anyone got a TAPIT+ lead (Serial) to suit the software of the same name for programming of Tunstall lifeline units, that is surplus to their requirements and available for purchase for a suitable remuneration please?. I have the USB version plus software already for the VI units but require the serial type for 400 units etc (older models). , Rich.

Hi guys. Just added a standalone expander board ( 8exp I think) to a system we fitted a few years ago. Existing system already has a plug on expander fitted. Fitted new expander, confirmed devices, both boards showing up correctly as 1 and 2. Programed new zones, wiring programmed as Normaly closed all appeared good. In walk test and when alarm set all new zones showing as closed and not activating when zone is walked? I am missing something but not sure what. Thanks all

Hi huys. It's been a long time since I was last on here, So I thought I would just call in and see how you are all doing. I see not much has changed... Exept, the best members seem to have disappeared... Even the home page, sorry 'Frontpage' still has the same old text... Same date too... Saturday, 7th July, 2007. So what's been happening on the security front.... And who's going to IFSEC this year? Banjax... AKA Keiko... Ian.

Not sure if this is the best place to post but do not have trade membership currently. We are turning down a lot of work at the moment. Need someone, ideally Hampshire, who can travel. We pay hotels + 30p per mile. Need help on some big projects starting in London and south UK.

  15. Hi guys! Hope everyone is well and enjoying the Christmas break! Firstly can I say thank you so much for providing me with great answers for some of my questions as I don't have many friends working in the CCTV sector it's great I have access to such a good forum. So I have another questions yet again which is that we mainly do installations for supermarkets and shops but not many restaurants and homes, and wanted to ask how people go about installing cameras on plastered walls and ceilings where fishing and wiring walls is a nuisance?
