I currently use the Gardtec 600/601 for hybrid on new installs and takeovers. On all bigger sites with monitoring the 601 is installed. Have a few Agility out there that are good now but have been using the Enforcer panel for complete wireless.

  2. Is this the almighty England's chances to finally stop the 66? With the team you have I say 2-0 engerland. Get to semi final and job is done!

Has anybody come across black or dark lines between light and dark colours in a cctv image? Looking at a row of houses it looks like a childs colouring book with thin black lines outlining the doors and windows etc. Its a 650 TVL IR eyeball camera with 1/3" sony effio chip. Any ideas please?

Just noticed this Internet connected alarm posted over on DIYnot. Looks better than Piper and Canary, but still sorely lacking in serious features. https://www.ismartalarm.com It's got FCC docs online, so I did a quick virtual teardown of it: http://cybergibbons.com/alarms-2/ismartalarm-quick-teardown/

  6. I have sent my quote through but 1hr drive to city centre 1 hr gagging about and replacing a fire call point. 1 hr drive back Have to be on site at 8am for job. Give me a price as iv just said no chance and it will be £195+vat. I reckon I'm still cheap but can do services in and about the area at that time. BTW I was told £100+vat all in including MCP. I'm not used to this subby work tbh but will help any installer if in the area but I need to make money!

I hate it when you tell someone no and they refuse to take that on board! Happened today so had to spell it out in no uncertain terms, all I wanted to do was put some money in the bank but they wanted to sell me some product or other, and they just persistently tried to get me to agree to taking a banking product out with them, rather than process the transaction I was there for. It took way too too long to get it through to the numbskull, had to threaten to make my business elsewhere just to get things moving, after telling them no three times already, I don't want anything from you, bang out of order.

I don't suppose anybody has 150 Visonic Spy 4's sat in a cupboard wanting a new daddy? Tyco pulled the plug on them and we have two jobs on the go that need them with no alternatives. Anybody seen any other tiny PIR's ? Dave

Hi guys. Hopefully somebody can help. I've had a client with several residential sites enquire about the replacement of Tunstall equipment, they seem pretty desperate to get away from this equipment but i'm really struggling to find an adiquate replacement. I need the main door unit to have a keypad with large buttons for residents with arthritis, the internal unit needs to be 'hands free' (no hand set) but also with a large button to answer and to release the entry door. Ideally these units wiil also need to be adapted to use with a pendant worn around their necks. This is everything that the current equipment does so i'm hoping one of you wonderful guys know of some…

  11. Hi, Just reticently installed an optima compact for someone using existing wiring, Everything seems to work fine apart from the zones that I've set as intruder keep going into timed mode. I've set zone one only as timed, I've set the entry and exit time to 20 seconds which now works on all detectors, and I made sure that zones 3-4 are not set as inhabited or timed, and all in used zones but these zones still keep working the same as zone1? NB I used existing wiring from a previous install, but I did note locations and made a cable schedule. Anyone got any ideas what could be causing this? matt

Well there is no catch, sign up one off fee £20 and you get three hundred odd txt, enough to run a little gsm unit however it will give you free data for your ipad aswell! so you get the same amount of data and sms every month , no catch http://www.ovivomobile.com/ one thing to note, dont bother porting your number over, as the downside is if you get disconnected for some reason, they seem to be bad at that, where there communication is poor , and you may have over spent , but for general sms being free is fine, i did a little review search and found that to be a common problem
