Hi Guys, I have been auditing an installation today with a Deltabell Plus G3 attached to a Galaxy Flex. It seems that when the supply voltage is removed to the bell, the bell does not sound to alert of lost power. Then bell is set up as SAB with the battery link set to INT. Does anyone have any ideas if we're doing something stupid or could it be a faulty batch of G3 modules? I've tried a handful from our stock in the workshop too connected to Enforcer W32, Galaxy Dimension and a good old fashioned battery by its self but still no luck. I'm going to ring tech support in the morning but I was just wondering if anyone else had experienced the same thing. Al

ACPO as was (NPCC) have reported that there has been a significant rise in burglars attacking systems when they are open. Namely removing the magnet on the entry door preventing setting. Just a heads up for you all

Hi, Going to be doing a full alarm install for a farm, now I've noticed that the the Barnes will need some form of protection, my first instinct is to use door contacts to prevent false alarms. The only problem I'm having is to find a door contact with an IP rating that will prevent corrosion or any build up of dust etc. I was thinking I could maybe find some sort of cover to make a cheaper door contact Ip rated, or apply a silicone sealant around it? Anybody got any ideas? Matt

Just wondered what everyone's opinions were on wireless alarms and which they think are the best in terms of price and quality. My company always fit the visonic ranges and its only since joining these forums I realised that they are not highly regarded by the other professional installers on here(due to being one way). I'm now starting to think my company choose the visonic range because the kits are cheap and so easy to install. I have just moved into my new property and im going to bell it up and was wondering what people could recommend both wireless and wired. My knowledge base is only what iv used at work and you guys have a much wider knowledge range and experi…

Hi I need advice on installing a second keypad to an existing wired alarm system. We’ve had an extension build, and the front door has moved. I want a second keypad near the new front door. My system is a Scantronic 9651, with an existing 9930 keypad. I have 2 questions: 1) I am planning to buy a 9941 keypad (as 9930 is obsolete) – will this work on the same circuit as the 9930? 2) How do I wire it in? Do I just connect the second (new) keypad up to exactly the same inputs on the 9651 board as the existing keypad? Or is it more complex than that? Thanks Phil

Need help wiring the Exodus smoke detector to my Accenta G4 panel. Been doing some research but need someone to clarify the best way. Seen some people using resistors but no idea why ! I see from the G4 instructions that I can use zone 7 or 8 to connect other than the designated fire connections on the board. Also seen this diagram picked up on here too : Thanks in advance.

I go out to a job we took over from a local approved company a couple of years ago. Monitored key holder only response. Anyhow the call came in customer reporting that the carpet fitter was refusing to fit new carpets in the hall due to the alarm cables. When we took over the job we had no idea what was lurking under the hall carpet. Never seen anything this bad before. It's all now been removed and recabled properly.

Hello, In the US there is a certification program "NICET" to certify technicians & designers for codes & standards knowledge. It is sometimes called out in a specification that the design and installation shall be done by a certified technician. Is there a program set up in Europe?

Hi Guys, I used to be an active member here years ago but having a kid stole all my spare time. Anyway, I have a few Flex questions, a few you have probably been asked before. I want the flex 20, I need it to be wireless (zones, not bell or keypad) and I need it to work with the App. I have had a look at the paperwork on the honeywell site but I'm not 100% sure. I may have an old radio portal and some wireless detectors in the loft, maybe from a G3 install, will they work? Maybe that's confusing it a little. Thanks in advance guys. Steve. I stopped fitting intruder a couple of years ago and moved to door access, that's why I don't have a clue about the flex, doh.
