  1. Great Thanks for the info. Two RF portals due to detached garage further out.
  2. Thanks al-yeti You replied while I was responding to sixwheeled beast. Please ignore the above comments I made. Based on your reply: I don't have to add the new keypad in serial with an existing one. I can in fact wire in star config as I tried before with a resistor at each end (and I can do this for all 4 keypads if required). I'll do it without "fat fingers" this time I guess. Is it best to power down as you suggested or can I do it in engineer mode? Thanks again.
  3. Thanks sixwheeledbeast. So to clarify, I would have to add the new keypad in serial with an existing one (ensuring only one termination resistor is at the end of this bus), and the other keypad would be unchanged terminating the other end of the bus.
  4. Dear All I currently have a Galaxy G2 44 fitted in my house. I have two keypads installed, currently in a parallel (star config?) from the control panel ie Each has a 680ohm resistor across the AB line and the control panel jumper is disconnected. I would now like to add a 3rd proxy keypad. Can somebody please let me know: Can I just add the new keypad in parallel as well with 680ohm across the AB or do I have to wire it up from one of the existing keypads. When I tried to wire 3 keypads previously (about a year ago when we bought the house) I think one of the fuses blew and all the keypads lost power. I did not connect the 3rd keypad after replacing the fuse, however there is now a requirement for it. Could I be pulling two much power from the panel - there are several devices connected to the bus: 2 x RF portals, 5 x PIR, 2 x keypads, but I thought I could connect up to 4 keypads without any problem. I'd be most grateful if somebody could confirm the wiring configuration for the new keypad for me. Thanks
  5. So that's a definitive "no" it can't be done I guess...not with a prox keyfob.
  6. Dear All On a G2 44 - Is it possible to use a keypad proximity Keyfob only to set an alarm when leaving the house, but disable it so it cannot be used to unset the alarm on return? I'd like the unset to be done by entering the appropriate code at the keypad. I believe this can be done on the RF Keyfobs but not sure about the proximity ones. Thanks Nikki
  7. Thanks Muppet mod, serial number was present and removed as suggested - All working ok now. You may be interested to know the Alto and Elden working fine as internal speakers connected in series on output 1002.
  8. Ok thx. If I scrap the Alto then, can I put two elmdene 16ohm in parallel for a total of 8ohm. or is there any other 2nd extension speaker I can use ( I need a low profile one if possible, the other half doesn't want a chunky eldene one).
  9. Hi All I've got a Honeywell galaxy g2 44+. The system served me well for many years but was decommissioned for about a year due to building work (when I say decommissioned I mean the builders decided to remove power and unplug it all). Anyway I've got it all installed again, I want to check a couple of things please:- I previously had just an Elmdene internal speaker (16ohm) connected to the panel output 1002 (SPK driver) and to +ve AUX. Now I want to connect a second speaker as well as the Elmdene. I have a CQR Alto Extension speaker (Piezo) rated at impedence better than 16ohms. Can I wire the two speakers in series? The instructions online for the Alto says it doesn't require a +12v power supply. I can put a resistor on parallel with the alto to ensure total resistance of the series circuit is approx. 16-20ohms. How does the Alto piezo work if it doesn't need +12v connected. Sorry I accidently posted that without finishing. Also I've got zone 1016 set as a spare and the system is telling me RF fail for zone 1016, not sure what is causing that? I haven't got any RF peripherals configured (but I did have in the old programming when the zone was in use). I thought "spare" disabled RF supervison, resistance checking on the zone etc. Any advise appreciated. Thanks
