Hi I've bought a Premiere Elite 24-W kit and busy reading install manuals. With the kit I get the Wintex software but no cable. I read in manual that board coms is RS232 and am given baud rate etc so easy to config pc com port for this. Question is do I need to buy the JAC-0001 cable or is this just straight forward RS232 3 wire (Tx, Rx, Ground) at board connector though I see board has 4 pins (shield?) and if it is just straight forward can anyone tell me which pin is which. i.e looking at the board and starting left to right 4 pins....what are they? If I know them then I guess I can make my own cable or is there something special that means I need to use the JAC-00…

Hi this is my first post so sorry if i have put it in wrong place or has been covered before, but i have spent ages looking and cannot find the whole answer. I was wondering if anyone would be able to push me in the right direction. I have installed a Scantronic 9651 in my parents home and would like to know what tests I need to carry out on the wiring etc and how I should I do this and also what values would I need to be looking for. Just joined the forum as it appears to be full of well informed security alarm experts and I'm hoping that someone might be able to point me in the right direction with regard to a problem I am having with my Scantronic alarm. I have a Scantronic i-on 40 with the I-kp01 control panel. The system was installed about 3 years ago and has been working fine during that time. Yesterday when the system was unset (just after being triggered by one of the kids) it didn't make its usual beep. On investigation I noticed that the date and time had reset to 2010. Hi there, Owing to an electronic fault on the circut board of my Reson8 bell box, I bought and installed a replacement. When I installed the alarm system (G4 Accenta) I stupidly did not make provision for an internal alarm sounder. So, rather than throwing the Reson8 away, I wonder if it is possible to cut off the sounder unit (not the circut board) and wire it directly to the G4 Accenta terminal, hence giving me an internal sounder? Hey guys, It is my first time setting up a magnetic door contact and I have a couple of doubts. I intend to install two magnetic contacts mounted in series, and these have 4 wires. All are white color ....but I've already identified two as the NC and the other two as anti-tamper. It is easy to connect the NC pair to the PBX as one goes to "ZoneX" and the second to "Common"....but the two tamper wires where they go? As I am mounting the detectors in series I guess these anti-tamper wires also have to be wired somehow different? And the second question, as the NC wires are all white I do understand that it does not have polarity, so I can chain them as I want? PD: the…

Hello, I have a question about running new alarm cables, My parents live in quite an old house (not too sure when it was built) but it currently has an old Logic 4 keyswitch alarm which I would like to replace with a nice new panel, either Honeywell Galaxy or Menvier M series. I may also be replacing the PIRs (not sure what make/model they are, they've been there since they bought the house, same with the panel) but I think I may need to run new cable from the panel to the PIRs (if I replace them) Because I don't want to start tearing walls apart (Mother would kill me for the mess), is there a simple way to replace the cable if needed? Hi Guys Im going to attempt to programme my powermax over the weekend. I have already wired it in using a fused spur etc. Any tips that anyone can offer? Should i enroll the sensors before putting them in the locations i want them in? Anything at all that may make life easier? Appreciate the help in advance.

I install with success the Premier Elite ComGSM on Premier Elite 24 Panel and at first i could arm and disarm the system. After some changes on settings, i don't remember unfortunaly, i can not arm or disarm the system. I am sending <password> arm s and I get only Status ******** Output...... Battery : OK Power : OK Line : OK so my SIM card is fine because can send me sms but i can not do my job. At first was OK. I check Arming Options about Remote Arm and Disarm. Hi all, after moving house I have decided to reinstall my powermax plus system. The control panel battery went flat whilst installing some bits, when I connected the power supply I got a clicking sound and 8 black blank boxes on the screen. The control panel will now do nothing's does anyone have any ideas? Many thanks Ian

Hi all Just trying to get our basic system so it won't alarm in a power cut, very annoying when trying to do electrical work on the house. I've already replaced the internal backup battery and left it 24hrs to charge but when I test it by removing mains power, the alarm sounds. I have 2 LEDs in the display, mains and day - both go out. The alarm is a C&K Securitech and unsure about the bell box make, although its hex shaped with 2 blue lenses at the bottom. Any ideas please guys? ! Simon

I have two ADT Boxes with sounders / leds etc that I intend to fit to my house. Couldnt be 100% sure if its the 7422-en or 7422 as Im not currently with them. What backup battery would be suitable in both size and capacity to fit inside the unit. Im even assuming it has one that is. Hello, I have an Accord XPC and I need some help with the configuration of the system. Alarm was inherited from previous owner and there is no maintenance contract on the alarm. The alarm is all wired up and seems to be working correctly. I have the engineers code and have tracked down an install manual online. I can't seem to find the answer to my issue in the install manual: When I do a night set (downstairs PIRs only) the keypad beeps a couple of times to acknowledge the alarm is set, however when I return downstairs in the morning or during the night the internal loudspeaker beeps quite loudly (a lot louder than the keypad beeps) to inform me that I hav…

Hi I bought Texecom Premier Elite 24 Panel with Texecom PIRS. I am using 6 cores cable. I used two for a/c, two for alarm and two for the tamper. I connect each two alarm cables to each zone and the two tamper cables on AUX Tamper on the panel with serial way. On Zone settings i set on Double Pole/EOL but i have for all zones Tamper Alert. Walk Test show only *NONE*. I can see the RED Led on Pirs but my alarm system is not recognize PIRS. If I change the settings on Close Circuit i don't have tamper for each zone but again the walk test is not working. Please Help me
