Texecom Speech Dialler

Featured Replies

Agreed

No but you need it if dialling the UK from abroad, no idea why you would want to do that though, unless you were using a UK based sms service

yeah, but the +44 restricts it to UK only doesn't it?

so with the +44 at the start of the number, if the phone is out of the country, it won't ring?

The customer wants the dialling code on to ensure he gets the call when he is abroad. He was under the impression, as was i, that to call a uk mobile that is currently abroad, you would need the uk dialling code?

Is this correct or not? Bcos if it doesnt need the code, its all gravy.

Have yoy tried using the * key i believe this puts in a +, but regardless should still work as 0044 number

I havent tried that but your right, all the + does is abbreviate the 00. So should work still as 0044.

Why?

Never had to use that when calling others abroad.

Agree with Ox here, when you call a uk mobile that is abroad you pay for a call to the uk, the receiver pays for the call from the uk. As far as you are concerned you are dialling a uk number, I've called lots of mates on their normal number and got the funny international ringing noise and connected no problem

The opinions I express are mine and are usually correct!

(Except when I'm wrong)(which I'm not)

Problem solved then. I will report back to say that the code isnt required to call his uk mobile numbers whilst they are abroad.

Thanks guys.
