Hi I've installed the ESP Infinite system and everything was ok apart from after connecting the 12v transformer to the external siren (INF-WES) it is providing no power to the siren. The control panel is also saying 'AC Loss External Siren'. The siren works ok on battery and the transformer seems to work ok (did a quick test powering a PS2 with it). Do I have a faulty siren box here?

  2. Hi all, The installation manual for the 9751 says that a "warbling" sound comes out of the 9930 RKP and from an internal sounder when a fire detector goes off. Can anyone confirm this? I haven't got an internal sounder yet, but if the RKP has a soudner for alarm and fire alarm, why do I need one? How loud is the sounder in the RKP? Thanks

Hi All, I've got a Texecom Veritas Excel PCB with matching text and speech dialler, which has been working fine for two years now since install (I'm really pleased as it was my first ever install in my first ever home and i owe it all to this forum and the people that posted to help me, so thank you everyone first of all!) In my 'destruction' manual it says i can remote reset the alarm, but i am not too sure what this means. Can someone advise me please? The alarm calls and texts me (and the rest of my friends and family) when it activates but i'd really like to be able to silence the sounders remotely via my phone if possible. Can this be done and would i need to bu…

Hello, I'm hoping someone can help me, I have installed a scantronic 9651 alarm in my house, wiring was no problem and the alarm is currently in installer mode. I have managed to set the date and time and reading the manual I understand how to set up the zone numbers and change zone 1 for instance to Front Door, however I am stuck working out what types and attributes I use. I assume for the pirs I use normal alarm but what attribute. Also for the front door is this a normal alarm?

I installed the Premier 24 panel in Jan and have had no problems with the system apart from one niggling thing which I just can't work out. I do a Part 3 set every evening when going to bed, the only omitted zone is the landing PIR. To set the alarm I usually just press 3 then PART then make my way up the stairs. Most of the time this works fine but occasionally when I get within range of the landing PIR it acts as if it

This morning at 3.30am I was woken by the sound of our external alarm sounder , the internal was not sounding. It sounded for a minute or so and during this time it was as if someone was holding the 12v cable on the connection point but not very steadily if you can imagine the noise that would make with the crackle before going into full sound. Anyway this happened a few times over the next 5 minutes. The RKP didn't show any any activations or tamper faults and showed that it was set correctly. I did unset the alarm anyway and still the problem persisted with the RKP denying any alarm. In the end I had to go up a ladder and disconnect the alarm completely. So here are…

Hi folks, Rather foolishly I managed to cut through one of the cables going to one of the PIR's connected to my GardTec 360/580 alarm. Immediatly everything went dead and the bell box on the outside of the house went crazy. I reconnected the PIR correctly and then proceeded to check the mains fuses, which were fine, and ended up finding that the fuse near the top left hand corner of the control box (Near the tamper switch) had popped. I replaced this temporarily with a 1AMP 240v fuse (It was better than the nail I was considering using ...) Now everything is back on, I have entered the code to disarm the system but I have the error message "Fb" apparently regardi…

Hello, Moved in about 2 years ago to a new place with a newly installed scantronic 500r+ the day I moved in I opened the pad on the alarm and set the tamper off. Not knowing the code, I simply unplugged the internal sounder and it has been in this state now for 2 years. I now would like to use the alarm as I have found the default codes etc in the user guide on the internet. My question is - the tamper light is on and the standby light is not. Will I have to plug the sounder back in and then close the pad, and enter the user code in order to make the unit work again? Currently it is not responsing to any keypresses. Thanks

  11. Hi Gents (I use the term loosely as I have seen some posts aimed at DIYers) I am running a Scanny 9651 (8 zone max) looking at either CCL or FSL. I have done a site assessment, and looks like I will need more than 8 pieces of monitoring. To consolidate zones, is it possible to loop a PIR and a flush reed switch on one zone, or to loop a few mag switches together to make one zone? This will free up zones. I am leading from the premise of 1 zone = 1 detector. If it is possible, as I am presuming that is what the extra terminal on the flush reed switch is for, next question(s) is how to do it and how to wire it in either CCL or FSL. I can't find any data from manufa…

Following some storm damage I've just finished rebuilding a texecom premier 48 installation. It has 2 power supplies, one in each of 2 buildings. The first is the main panel. The second power supply is a PSU 200XP (basically a power supply and a 8 zone expander linked together in the same box. This replaced a standard expander because the system load was marginal on the single power supply. The two power supplies are linked at 0V and the two halves of the system are otherwise electrically isolated as per the manual. The both have ACT1313 spike suppressors fitted. After powering it up 2 things happened: 1-I had a number of false alarms or false messages at a rate …

Just installed my first alarm (Texecom 24) and all seems to have gone well but I have a couple of questions. Each button press on the keypad produces a tone, is there anyway of reducing their volume of turning them off? I have also installed a new Intellisense Dual Tech PIR with Anti-masking (DT7550C) in the garage and have noticed that I can activate the microwave detection by standing on the other side of the door. I have already set the microwave sensitivity to its minimum. I can't get the PIR to trigger though so is this acceptable? Thanks in advance for any help you may be able to offer.
