Agghh - just spent 90 mins writing all my probs down and deleted it in a second-gutted. Can't do all that again. Bought Gardtec CP595MGTAG2 alarm, 3 x V40 DT PIRs, 5 x RK600SM ShockTecs Detectors with magnet, 2 x RWT72MIQ Wireless door contacts and also 2 x RWT6SW shock detectors, wireless expander, Novagard 6 sounder, internal sounder, zone expander and 8 core alarm cable (should be 6 but hope 8 core is okay) Now realise I was sooooo stupid to think I could attempt it myself. I can't even understand the instructions. I've run the cables under floorboards to appear where I wanted the components. Fused spur is connected to Cunsumer Unit. Need to fit Alarm sounder, m…

Hi, I have just purchased a Powermax+ system and have a couple of questions while I'm waiting for it to arrive. The panel uses a plug in transformer to get its power, and also has a backup battery. Should I try and hide this panel somewhere, or is it ok to leave out on display? I suppose the question is how secure is the system if an intruder gets physical access to the control panel? Can it be easily compromised? I was planning on setting up the system to work purely off the keyfobs. I thought this would be better as I can arm/disarm the system from outside the property. This way, an alarm would trigger immediately if any of the sensors were triggered. This way, I wou…

Hi All. I hope someone can help me out I have a Nexus 8 pannel and a SD1+ that I am trying to get working. The alarm is fully working so there is no problems there, and I have programmed the SD1+ also and I am able to make test calls from that and they work ok. The problem I am having is that I not 100% sure how to get the pannel to trigger the SD1+, the SD1+ has 3 TRIG A, B and C i assume i only need 1 trigger for it to work ? Lets say TRIG A, as my Nexus 8 is not listed in the SD1+ user guide im not sure how to connect it up, i was told it maybe -v from the bell on the pannel but i am not sure, can anyone advise me on this please. I assume that i only need TRIG A, a…

Hi I need to fit two keypads to a eurosec cp8 panel. It looks like the keypads have to be wired in series according to the manual. Is this correct or can both the keypads be wired directly from the panel with the 680 ohm resistor fitted on both keypads. Thanks in advance Kevin

Hi all, I have a Veritas 8 compact alarm system. It has been instsalled around 8 years and has never been serviced. Recently I noticed the box was getting hot and about a week later it stopped working. I opened it up and noticed that the live wire had snapped at its terminal, also the fuse had blown. I repaired the wire and replaced the fuse and it worked for about 6 hours and then died. (Still running hot) Obviously the battery is far past it's best but could it be causing the getting hot problem? PS, I have not opened it up a second time to see if the fuse has blown etc again. I'll have a closer look tonight. any help appreciated..

A man awoke one evening to discover burglers in his storage shed. He immediately called 999 and notified the police of a possible burglary. The operator asked " Are they in your house?" He said no... only in the shed in the back garden. Operator said there were no cars available at the time.... He thanked the operator and hung up. He counted to 30 seconds or so and called 999 again. "I just called about a break in at my storage shed ...well, you don't have to worry - I just shot them and they're all down !" - and hung up. Within minutes there were 3 police cars and an ambulance as well as a fire engine in his driveway. After capturing the burglers red handed, the …

I purchased an Infinite Prime system online recently and have just had a professional in to fit it today. He has not installed this exact model before and has come across an odd issue. He installed the control panel into the mains minus the battery which apparently has to be fitted at the end of the installation once everything is set up. He installed the door contacts and they worked fine when tested. He then fitted the PIR's which again worked fine when tested. He then installed in the external Bellbox which again worked fine when tested. He then installed the battery. However then the system kind of locked up and wouldn't recognise anything or react to anything.…

HOMELINK 55 ALARM PANEL SYSTEM Hi, We have some wired PIR connectors to wire into this panel, Honeywell IS-215TQ type, and we would like confirmation on the wiring into the panel. We suspect the following: PIR Tamper x 2 = Gobal tamper on Panel x 2 PIR -12V +0V = -12V, +0V connections on panel PIR C & NC connections = how would they be wired onto the panel Also, we have a Gartec Eurosec XS3D sounder to wire, this type is not listed in the instruction book for the panel, so can anyone advise what the wiring onto the pane would be go based on the following: XS3D Sounder Connections: ST- (STROBE) TMPR (SAB TAMP) S- (BELL-) 12V (BELL+) 0V (BELL HOLD-) Many …

Texecom Voice & Text Dialler, installed on a Texecom Premier Alarm Panel. The one problem I have is a failure to send Text messages using BT SMS text service centre, apart from that, it is fully operational. Using the Text test mode, the Dialler connects and dials the correct service centre number, it progresses through dialling a number until "Waiting Connect" is displayed, I guess it is trying to setup communications with the SMS centre at this point. After about 40 seconds the X button has to be pressed to abort the call, the display then shows "Idle Failed" Both 7 & 8 bit protocols have been tried. Also have a Philips SMS DECT phone which has no problems…

Hi All, There seems to be a lot of intelligent people here and I'm hoping that someone can help. I bought all the bits I thought I'd need to sort out an alarm for my new house, but have run into some problems. All but one I have managed to eliminate and this is where I hope you can help. I have the Veritas Excel panel with the matching RKP, as I only need a maximum of eight zones. 1 & 5 are simple flush mount door contacts, 2,3,4 and 6 are PIR's. The PIR's are Texecom's AMDT plus, anti mask sensors. For the life of me I cannot get them to trigger any kind of action on the control panel. The Excel does support EOL and I'm wondering if it is just down to having …
