Is this Ok to do from the instructions, or do you advise an expert plus a Servicing? The alarm System is approximately 5 years old and un-touched. Happy New Year jason

Hi, I have just had my hall re-plastered and the plasterer removed my sounder for my alarm system (scantronic 9651) the problem is that he has removed the wires and there are now a green and a white cable (from the wall) and I'm not sure which one is the + (suspect that it's the white one) Is this simple enough for me to re-wire or will I have to call out the engineer? Many thanks James

Hi Everyone, thanks for all your help, I've searched and 'self-helped' so far from your great forums, but now I've come to a sticking point. I've just moved into a new house that was pre-wired, but extended. After a bit of research, I ordered a CPX because of the vo-comm dialler. I've fitted 5 bosch blue line PIR's, a front door contact switch, radio receiver and one wireless PIR in the extension. The bellbox is from Maplin/Lyntek. The RKP is installed by the front door, with an external tag reader in the UPVC door frame. (House just went out of house builders warranty, and the door etc is out of warranty). Everything works, and I've silent tested everything for a we…

This is the only quote that we have had to date and I would like to know is this the price i will have to pay ? If you say it is fair then i will have to go with it, if not i will probably look to shop around a bit more. Any one in our area (Oxford) looking for some extra work please pm me The system would be a wire free system and will consist of the following: 1 No Control Panel 1 No Key Pad 2 No Passive Infrared Detectors 2 No Door Contacts 1 Transmitter 1 No Internal Sounder 1 No External Sounder SAB Supply &…

  9. Hi I have had some quotes and they are just way outside my budget so I have decided to install my self, luckily we have some sparks where I work so they will run all the cables for me and I can do the rest (hopefully) I have read the DIY install guide and it says lay a continous cable, is it not better to run seperate cables to each point ? When buying the equipment do you get ll info like the engineers code etc which will be required for programming. I have decided on Gardtec 816 panel with gardtec shock sensors, passives and contacts, from what I have read this is good qulity equipment. Finally from reading around it seems that there maybe a pc interface available …

Hi, I'm very new to this and wasn't sure where to ask. I've got a new house, with an alarm which says 'Consul' on the keypad. The keypad responds to keypad presses, but it's effectively immobilised. Is there anywhere I can get a manual from? Stu

Hi, I have just completed my first alarm install ( configuration is another issue! ). Spec is : All Texecom except the PIRs Premier 48 LCD/LCDL RKP X 2 comIP module / Wintex Speech & Text Dialer Zone Expansion module Bell box PIRs etc... I have installed everything ( except the speech dialer - 50% complete ). I have done the varying walk tests and all is working. the questions I have are: 1. I would like to check on the speech/text dialer exactly what outputs I need to connect to as the varying manuals are at least for me contradictory. Do I connect the dialer to the digi outputs on the lower left hand side of the panel, or the outputs on the upper rig…

Hi, I have in my possession a Sierra S5832AU2 Control Panel. Unfortunately I have ONLY the panel. I'd like to install it in my home but am wondering if I can use a keypad from any other brand. I'm unsure if keypads are compatible across brands. I have installed a couple of burglar alarms in my dark and distant past and so have a little experience...enough to be dangerous. Your advice appreciated. , Sankar

Recently my alarm has been sounding in the middle of the night with the Error 6F. I clear this but it continues to go off every 30 mins for about 4 hours which is becoming very frustrating. Can anybody give me advice on how to stop this? Is the code 6F or is it really BF for the Battery? Any help would be much appreciated asap!
