Anyone know of any panels that send alarm signals to a serial port and will also "listen" for any data that is sent back ?

I want a panel that can send an alarm signal to COM1 and "listen" for an ACK from some locally connected equipment so that the alarm does not get sent again.

I know some Napco panels do it - but they won't release the protocol.
