hi, i am having some issues with a Honeywell portal c079(as far as i know), i bought some pirs which are the dominal series i think and a old style dodt 800gy-b contact which all worked fine first time but i have just bought 2x do800m contacts which i cannot get programmed onto the panel, i have read that the older c077 will not work with newer devices but the new one will and is backward compatible so is there any markings on the portal which indicate what version it is? dx

  2. Hi there guys 1st time ive posted here but always used the site for information very good site. I am trying to connect Acti TCM 5611 IP cams to a ICREALTIME HYBRID DVR/NVR. I am aware that the IC does not support Acti but i have been informed that they should work using ONVIF. The ICREALTIME system is: HVR-1600HS/4000. When I do an auto search of devices on the system, it displays the IP address of the Acti and the manufacture comes up as ONVIF but will not display the mac address info of the camera and will not work. I have changed the RTSP port on the Acti to match the IC (554). Are you aware of any other ports/settings I may need to change for it to recognize it…

  5. Hi everyone. Its been a while since I came along here. I have a protect fog cannon for sale if anyone is interested? It is a used unit taken from an office when we did an upgrade to a clients security system. It is a leading fog screen security device who retailers such as sainsburys and co-op use to fill their shops with smoke if they have a break it. It is a fantastic device for detering robbery. go here http://www.protectglobal.com/ for infomation and video's on the device. It is a 600 unit so perfect for a full size shop. I am selling for £400. these usually retail at £900 and it only has some minor cosmetic blemishes.

Hi there, Newbie here! I have a Honeywell Accenta Gen 4 control with Reson8 sounder. Self installed during a new build and all been running well for the last 9 months. This morning, I pressed the 'Set' button, the normal exit countdown started and when finished, the alarm rang, but not with the normal two tone sound, just an extremely high pitched continuous sound. I opened the front door and entered my code, but the sound continued for about 30 seconds and gradually died, with a sort of decreasing 'throttling' sound. I have used engineer mode to check, and everything seems fine, although the bell test brings back this high pitch noise (as I said above…

Hi all, Sorry if this topic is in the wrong place or been asked many times. I'm after having an alarm installed in my house (2 bed semi) the system should contain a remote panel, 2 door contacts, 3 pir's, glass break detector bell box on front and dummy on rear. I've been looking at the texecom premier 48 as this seems to come highly rated. Any ideas on price supplied and installed? Or alternative equipment suggestion? Thanks in advance Sean

I've been trying to call them for about a week but the phone is constantly engaged, I think it must be left off hook. I want to order a 54" flexible shaft wood auger drill bit, anywhere else that sells those in the UK if they are out of the game?

  14. Hi guys not sure if this is the right section, so mods please move if ive made a mistake. We have a house which has a pc5010 unit in it, we know the code but not how to set up the zones. We also have out buildings that we want to cover on the house alarm. Im trying to find some details or get a technician thats fairly local 'Yorkshire" to help out. im looking to wire up the door contacts, pirs and smoke alarms in the out buildings then run the cables to the house and to the unit. Then get a professional in to connect to the unit and zone it up as looking at the manual gets a bit confusing!! If anyone has any tips that i can do to wire it in myself that would be great. I…

We currently have a group phone contract with vodafone with 10 handsets We have 2 high users where mine is the highest, my bill is 2-300 quid a month alone. Im sure i have read you can get unlimted usage for less than this? I make a lot of calls and its worth looking at alternatives just for my bill alone. Jeff seems well clued up on this but im wondering what you all do as i think we could do better. James
