Hi there, I have 1 X banham el4000 electric lock and 1 X EL512 assoy abloy electric lock. They are controlled by paxton compact keypads as well as a home automation system. We have a texecom 48 elite alarm system and i'm wondering if we can wire elements of the lock activation into it. I.e when the latch is released it will trigger an entry on the alarm system. Also curious if it might be possible for a succesfull code on the keypads to not only release the latches but also disarm the alarm. Many thanks Daniel.

Hi everyone, I have an SL Compact alarm system installed and having an issue with the volume of the beeps from pressing buttons and setting the system. I set it every night going to bed. My wife set it the alarm off earlier this week . Normally after the alarm is triggered the beeps from pressing buttons are very loud but pressing reset restores a quieter beep volume. This is no longer re-setting and the system now gives off very loud beeps when pressing buttons and when setting. Also the time to set the alarm when leaving the house is taking around 1 minute of very loud beeping. Does anyone know how to reset to a lower volume 'beep' when using the system. The …

I know this has been discussed a few month ago, I'm sure by now you've all see this new total bag of pooh DT8016FS Duel Tech that's replaced the 7450EOL I've had to do an upgrade today, to add another adjacent warehouse to a system we installed just 2 months ago All the original detectors are DT7450, Good, Well build & robust units with zero FA issues for me. I've been forced again to use these newer DT8016 units and they are an absolute bag of F*CK*NG SH*T I've tried to find a supplier today, Nobody has the 7450's at all... I even called Risco "Yes Risco" to see what they offered, But their prices are laughable on their I-Wise Dual-techs We need t…

Hi All, We're considering a system which covers access control and intruder alarm in one. We've just competed our new factory/office building, previously we used separate clock in systems, and a single door card reader entry system, and a separate intruder alarm. We're growing and are currently a medium size company, we're sole sited, and have 90 employees. I want to gauge the general consensus on which systems are best, to use from an installers perspective as I'm worried about being blown away by jargon and sales pitch when we get quotes! The main things we're concerned about are value for money, ease of use and reliability, really don't want to get up and drive …

Discussion on a FB group at the moment. It's a closed group but no questions are asked when signing up. Someone asked the question wether it was right or not for people to be sharing out engineer codes as freely as has been happening. Seems to be some mixed responses. I know my opinion, just want to get people's responses on here. What is the legality involved in a group like that?

Hi I know axis do a Poe cctv camera that you can you a sd card in the camera so it records to the sd card. I got a customer that's wants to set up 1 camera to record to a sd card instead of paying for a dvr or remote hard drive. You can do it but will need to get a Poe injector for the power for the camera Has any ever tried it or know a good camera that you would be able to record to sd card.

I stumbled across this article the other day (sorry if it's already been posted/discussed) http://www.wired.co.uk/news/archive/2014-07/24/home-alarm-hacking With computing technology improving at an insane rate and top of the range cars being stolen off peoples drives with nothing more than a laptop. Does anyone question the security of wireless alarm systems and the longevity of the security process in place on these systems? If BMW/Land Rover etc.. spend millions on wireless key encryption methods surely we need to question if any current wireless alarm technology will be hackable by nothing more than a 15 year old kid with a laptop with a fast GPU and internet co…

Hi, my name is Paul and this is my first ( and hopefully siccessful)post on this forum. I install and maintain alarm systems in the Warwickshire area. I need to reset a Castle Care tech 1600 (installed 1999 , built in keypad) for a new owner of a property. They have no user code and so cannot use the system. I have an installation manual but there is no mention of how to reset to factory defaults. Has anyone out there any experience of resetting the NVM?
