Hi I have just joined the forum and if possible need some help ! I have a Scantronice Alarm System and everything has been fine but I think have a issue with one of window sensors a Scantronic 738r.This has only happened after the wife was cleaning the inside of the windows and possibly water has somehow got into the sensor ? The alarm sets fine and is showing no faults when you go through the key pad how ever after 5mins or so after setting the alarm activates and it states Zone 11 in the log is the culprit. I have found some paperwork next to the what I believe to be the radio receiver and it's a RFX08 &RFX16 wiring diagram and instructions. I have been doing…

I am looking for a little help with my wireless WisDom security system - I am looking to disarm and permanently disassociate two smoke detectors that are part of the system, and I am unsure how to do this. Appreciate any help. Thanks in advance

Just fitted a one of those new ComWifi modules to a Texecom premier last week. Realized it will need a static address, the customers router does not support DDNS updates. Does anybody know of a solution to keep DDNS updated without running a PC windows client? I attempted to plug on a spare netgear router that can do no-ip DDNS updates, but as soon as you put it to access point mode, DDNS gets disabled. If it's going to be an issue, we'll end up replacing his router

Noticed for a while now our roads (UK) are slowly being destroyed by local councils. Recently I have noticed most of the A/B classed formally "national speed limit" sections of road are now 50 or even 40 MPH in my area (North West). Combined with more and more random cross hatchings there efforts are to "deter overtaking". It's working, causing driver's to get frustrated and make rash decisions. IMO if they taught how to overtake correctly there would be no need for this. I'd have no problem if speed limits were reduced in high accident areas. Many are not accident areas and have been reduced to below government guidelines. Most of us are on the road a lot, do you …

What are peoples thoughts on this? It has never been an issue but was just having a general chat with the guys at new company. Was doing a google search and came across this http://www.planningportal.gov.uk/buildingregulations/approveddocuments/partm/faqs Q. Should the height of trip switches and consumer units (fuse boxes), which are normally positioned at least 1200mm above floor level to avoid tampering by children, be within the 450mm to 1200mm height range specified in Section 8? A. AD M does not offer guidance on the positioning of trip switches and fuse boxes. A new Part of the Building Regulations, Part P 'Electrical safety', with accompanying guidan…

As a few of you know I'm in the process of upgrading our home alarm system and I think I'll start with the bell box. Is the ADE Reson8 a good replacement for a 21 year old Risco Novagard 4 alarm. I know that the bell box electronics aren't protected very well so I would make some sort of cover for the circuit board to protect it from the weather. But overall is it a good bell box or should I go with Ventcroft? (I'm trying to do this as cheaply as possible)

Hi All, I'm new here but have been reading the TSI forums for a few months now. It seems like most the members here are decent people and the responses seem genuinely useful, so I thought I'd register So, I basically trying to understand how many new installs you guys are doing a month and what percentage take up maintenance contract. Obviously this is going to vary massively depending on the size of the company and number. of engineers etc. So perhaps it'd be more useful to list like this: Installs | install engineers | % maintenance e.g. 30 | 2 | 50% Look forward to seeing the response. Thanks, Reggie
