After taking over a few SPC systems, I'm now wondering if we should make the move over to SPC from Galaxy. We mainly install galaxy and the odd bit of texecom. I was very impressed with the flexibility of the SPC, the camera Integration and the app. Customers seem to love it too. But is it worth making the move?

Hi all, does the Vanderbilt SPC pro software work with the europlex signet range of panels? I'm guessing it does but just checking before going to site tomorrow. Cheers

Hi All I have a Texecom system that I installed in my home and garage several years ago and has worked flawlessly since. We are looking at moving house and this system will be left behind for the new owner so I will be purchasing a new system for my new property. My last panel came with full installation manual, is this still supplied with all new panels? Thanks John

Why is it that every time I cover weekend call out due to holidays etc, I seem to get a phone call off a mate I haven’t seen for years asking if I am going out for a pint tonight. The way it goes I suppose.

Painter struck a viper, which then blew a fuse on an Enforcer. Replaced the fuse however each time a user code is entered the panel says its testing before successfully arming. Is there a way to reset this? Any suggestions are welcome!

Sooo people, thought id find out what cutters and screwdrivers everyone on here uses Currently got the 160mm bahco's and they;ve been really good, might swap to the 180 but also heard good things about knipex Screwdivers wise - cant beat the ratchet with the standard terminal and some others. If need be might get the Wera kraftforms just to be a bit different

Hi All I've come across an issue at a site where its been fine for over a year and now im getting spurious alarm signals between 12am and 3 am from various long rang detectors. It started with just one detector so it was changed but now its multiple including the changed one. Its a large builders merchant with a large warehouse, there isn't any sign of animal life. The only thing is the warehouse is rather hot and I wondered whether the cooling of the building would effect these particular detectors. The thing is now isn't as hot as it was so i'm a little stumped.

hi all, i have a system of menvier m12 smoke detectors connected to my alarm system and powered seperately by an elmdene 1amp psu and this has been working fine until today when i noticed the psu had no lights on and none of the detectors were flashing which i find unusual as surely if the psu failed the alarm relay in each detector would open and set off the system which would then show me the fault? i'm not sure what has happened as i don't have time to look into it until the weekend so does anyone know what the issue might be? don't worry i am using battery powered detectors until then thanks in advance

Any one know how to replace a faulty hard drive with standard hard drive , instead of having to buy a new one from heitel , I do know they have some sort of software/information on the hard drive

Good Evening I was working on a TS690 this afternoon and I set up a new ward partition C. However when i trigger a device in that ward it is not registering an alarm not audible or even in the log. If i full set the premises everything works as it should. I have looked in the menu option 'configure wards'. Any ideas?

Afternoon, I'm back in a role where I need to update my intricate knowledge of the requirements for Intruder alarms after spending five or six years focusing on darkside of Fire & Access Control I've noticed a number of new features on the dual tec's and bells, some like the battery monitoring and LED override make sense, i'm just trying to get my head around the remote self test on the grade 3 dualtec's could ask if this is a connection that needs to be made for all new systems or only those where the system would only have 1 true maintenance visit and the 2nd being done remotely via the upload / download links ? Again as I have missed a number of years and as things have changed could I ask for feed back to which detectors, & Contacts are currently the best / easiest to fit, FA rates are important, but being able to actually fit the damn things without the cases buckling, or not enough space to terminate the connections has to be considered I remember when I was on the tools cringing every time the bosses introduced a new detector, because it was "cheaper" On paper they can all tick the boxes, but its obviously some are just better built and designed, so I can try and make the guys lives easier any items / makes to consider or to avoid would be appreci…
