Hi Guys, First post and thought I would ask about a problem I had last year and I expect to return when the weather warms up (if my suspisions are correct). Firstly I installed a Texecom Veritas R8plus early last year. We have a cat so I fitted ... Pet Pirs in all rooms (5), Fire Detectors (2), Conservatory (extreme heat) Pet Pir (1), Conservatory Break Glass Detector (1). Everything works perfectly but for one thing. We have a patio door which I like to leave open about 6 inches to allow the cat access to the conservatory where the cat flap is located (the patio door is locked in this open position with bolts). Hi I desided to add 2 magnetic door contacts to the same zone as one of my pir's (optex rx-40qz) When the door contacts & pir are wired up, it fails the walk test, if i disconect the pir the door contacts pass the test & if disconect the door contacts the pir pass's the test!!! Have check every thing, no shorts in wiring, differnt zone on panel ect... any help would be great Thanks

I'm having a problem getting a replacement bell box (Novagard GA) to work with a Gardtech 500 control panel in standard mode. The LEDs do not light. The Strobe and the Sounder do not operate when an alarm is actvated. The bell box sounder activates with cover removed. I've wired as per fig 3 page 2 of the Novagard instructions and Jumper 1 is in SAB position, jumper 2 removed and no address jumpers are connected. Are the Novagard GA and the Gardtech 500 compatable?

First of all I just want to say that i now know why it is recomended to get a pro in to set up a burglar alarm as I am finding out it's not easy to set one up for yourself - bit late now tho, if anyone is thinking about doing this i'd really think twice and make sure you have enough time and patients to do it. Anyway i have spent the last few nights installing my new kit which is a Texecom Veritas R8 8 zone control panel with remote keypad, it has 2 door contacts (front and back door) and a PIR in 4 rooms. I have managed to get everything installed with all cables burried in the walls and behind door frames etc. Got everthing connected up last night and connected it up…

I am currently installing a Eurosec CPX alarm system, with 2 RKPs, and 2 G-Tag proximity detectors - one internal, one external. So far everything seems to be working ok, until I tried connecting one of the G-Tag prox detectors to one of the RKPs. This results in the backlight on both RKPs flickering at the same rate as that of the blue LED on the prox detector. I have tried both internal and external detectors and they both produce the same annoying effect. Has anyone else seen this before? Any ideas would be very much appreciated.

Hello and help! Can anyone tell me why the sensors on my Accenta6 have just stopped working? There is no red light on them to show they are picking up any motion - but they were fine yesterday????

Good evening everybody. I have recently purchased a Nexus 8 alarm panel as a replacement for a similar one damaged during a series of power outages. I have tried to program the new panel. However, when I enter the engineering menu and carry out the first programming item, I cannot return to Unset 'Un' by pressing 'ESC' . I have double checked everything to no avail. I have been unable to unset the panel under any circumstances. I suspect that there is a corruption of the data in the non-volatile memory. Has anyone experience of this problem, or any ideas Many thanks

Hi guys, I just installed Powermax+ with 6 PIRs and a door contact for a mate. Arming/disarming, sensors, etc are working fine, however, I have a couple of probs. First one is that we want to connect it to the phone line so that it dials a number to report alarms/alerts. I have connected it to the phone line but I can't find any way to test whether it's connected properly or not. The manual shows an RJ11 which is not there so I connected the phone wires to a pair of contacts at the back (which is also shown in the manual as connected to the phone line). I set the phone numbers both on the installer's and user's side and set off the alarm but nothing happened. I can't …

Hi, The builders have finally finished rendering and I thought I'd put our Telecom Security (dummy) box back up. I have the box, screw and the cap, but I can't find the bracket anywhere! Is the L-shaped bracket a standard fit, the likes of which I may find at the DIY stores? Thanks

hi,hope someone can help.am having probs with my father in laws alarm.It triggers randomly but is always zone 4.it was apparently professionally installed around 10 years ago.i fitted a dual passive in the garage for him around 2 years ago and the problem went away.now it has returned.have tried adjusting the dual etc but the problem remains.panel is an optima compact g3.zone 4 has 1 passive in the dining room and the dual in the garage.reading through the manual tonight i noticed that the battery was replaced in 2002,could this be the prob? any ideas that any one has would be greatly appreciated as im stumped

Hi, I have the Infinite Prime Alarm System. One thing it has not come with is the power cable for the Control Panel. Just wondering what I will need and where best to get it from. All it says in the instructions is:- "Thread the power cable through the wiring hole on the back cover and connect cable to the AC power input on the MainBoard. I think it will be 2 core alarm cable I need I think. Also wondering if I can connect one end to a plug and then plug that into a normal plug socket rather directly into the wires behind the plug socket (If that makes any sense).

Hi everyone...today, while doing some diy (taking up floorboards), I accidently kicked the wire leading to a panic button . The alarm went off. I silenced it, but it keeps showing attack on the panel. I've tried to reset but nothing happens...any help much appreciated. Any engineers in Liverpool?

Hi, I am looking for you well needed help with my alarm system. Long story but I have just had to enter my own house with my alarm going off as my ex partner has changed the code. Anyway, I managed to disarm the alarm by taking out the fuse and disconnecting the battery. I then waited 20minutes for the alarm to stop. I now know the code but the system does seem to respond to it, after I managed to put the fuse and connect the battery back up it seems to blare out a internal alarm only which I managed to switch off using the engineers code "edit - Arfur" the #. I am now trying to use the existing code with no luck. Could this be because the system has wiped the code?? Eve…
