help please I live in a semi detached house with the upstairs being a loft conversion. The roof is slated and the gable end wall does not face the front of the plot and is therefore not very visible from the road. If I site the bell box on the front of the house, the only vertical wall space means the box will be only 8 -9 feet off the ground, and therefore more accessible to tampering. Is there any preferred method of mounting the box on the sloping roof, or is my only option to use the less visible gable end wall (two stories high)? thanks in advance

Hi, Just wondering if anyone can help. I have a Scantronic 9448ES Alarm and have just purchased (Ebay!) an SD1+ Speech Dialler. I have spent all morning trying to work out how to connect the Speech Dialler to the control panel. A. I just want it to call me when the alarm goes off, so only need to connect up 'Trigger C', but do I connect 12v on the SD1+ to 12v on the control panel? B. If so where do I connect OV to??? c. and where do I connect 'Abort'???? these are probably dumb questions, sorry!

Hello. I'm connecting the Intellisense AG8 External Sounder & strobe to my Sterling 10 panel. Tech Support at Intellisense seemed vague with their response to my question: "Erm... try this and maybe that..." Sterling 10 isn't listed under 'Connections' in the Intellisense Instn booklet, so I'm seeking assurance from people who know, to be 100% certain. What do I connect to what please? AG8 has R- V- ST- V+ -SW STERLING 10 has Bell+ Bell- BT Bell NO Bell C Bell NC STROBE NO STROBE C STROBE NC Regards, Notrevo

Hi, I installed my second home alarm without problems four or five years ago. Recently I had a problem and replaced the alarm box which was definitely faulty. After finding your great website during my search for a replacement I acted upon the info from one particular forum reply regarding a Reson8 bellbox and followed the advice given to seek a Texecom replacement. I opted for an Odyssey 2E which has been fitted with wiring instructions given in item 132

Hello, this is my first post. I have just installed an Accenta G3 alarm panel with a RKP, 2 PIR's and a bell box. When I had finished wiring, I connected the battery to the alarm panel, closed the lid and then powered it up from the mains. The system went into the alarm condition and the tamper light was lit on the key pad. I entered the user code and the alarm ceased and the tamper light and the day light were lit. Here's the problem, in the instruction manual tells me to immediately press program and to enter the engineer code, the key pad doesn't register the engineer code and doesn't make a bleep when i press a button. Any ideas?

Hi, I have a touring caravan and I have been thinking of fitting an alarm to it, the panel would have to consume very little power as it would be powered by a 80ah caravan battery for over the winter months (approx Nov-April). Is it best to go for a wireless system as the PIRs would have there own batts and I would only have to find power for the main panel, or a hard wired system ? It would be nice to have the alarm remote controlled can anybody recomend a suitable system which isn't too pricey ? Stuart.

I'm looking for a sounder module for indoor use that provides a selection of "nice" tones such as chimes, buzzes, whoops and other delights. Ideally it's 12V powered and directly connectable to low-going alarm outputs so, for example, I can connect 3 outputs from the alarm to get three different chime sounds according to whichever zone has been activated. This seems such a do-able and useful item but I'm having a real hard time finding one. Does anyone know of such a thing? If not I'm going to have to resort to throwing 3 miscellaneous piezo sounders into a box and that's going to sound good! Thanks for any advice!

Hey guys, I purchased a home that has a wired alarm system installed. I think the control keypad says it's a Honeywell, but I'm not certain. The circuit board (brains) of the system no longer exists. It was ripped out at some time in the past, but I have access to all the wire runs. I know that we have magnetic switches on all the windows, a motion detector in the living room, and a siren/horn located in the attic. What I'd like to do is wire any of the above to a computer I have serving as my digital video recorder. I am handy with a soldering iron and am not afraid to hack around with software. What I really need to know is what do I need to do to get feedback fr…
