Hi, I have been having problems with the controls of my Optima Compact. The buttons on the control panel and main box were not working, so I opened the main box causing the tamper alarm to go off. Once the alarm goes off, the buttons begin to work to allow me to disable the alarm. However. once the alarm has been disabled the buttons no longer work and the tamper light is showing. Please help.

Evening all, in the progress of doing up our house, the alarm system is dated and looks pretty ****. I want to replace it but not sure exactly where to start. Could I buy a new system and use the existing cables, just replacing the PIR's and door sensors with the new ones. Not sure about the bell, can I leave the existing one up there or do I need to replace that as well, complete beginner at this! everyone

Hello, Help! I have a problem with a Securitech 700L. The tamper led on the remote keypad will not go out. I have shorted out the tamper circuit in the panel and the tamper led is still on??? I have also tried shorting out the tamper circuit in the remote keypad and the tamper led is still on. I dont have a user manual. Is there a reset on the Keypad? eg code + what? Or does it mean the remote keypad is simply goosed?

Hi, I would be grateful if someone could recommend a suitable smoke detector to use with a G60. Our spark did suggest mains smokes but I would prefer to add to our G60 if it is possible? Thanks

As some of you already know, I'm in the process of installing a Pyronix PCX256 system in my modest home. Certainly a challenge for a rank beginner, but I seem to have the control panel and keypad connected OK. So far, so good. I now need to buy some cat-tolerant PIRs and I'm leaning towards the Pyronix KX10PI - not pretty but it does have the advantage (for a beginner) of onboard resistors on both alarm and tamper circuits. For style I think I'd opt for the Visonic K9-85. Another consideration is that two of the detectors will have to be mounted at 2.9m; higher than recommended for either of these two. Grateful for any thoughts. Neil

Hello all. Just wonderin' if any of you can help me with my latest project - it's a Euronics CP8L system - everything is working, apart from chime. You see, I would like the system to chime when the front door opens. I have turned it on in the menu, to no avail. Any ideas folks? Oh yeah, one other question - I have an internal garage - what would you recommend to alarm the up and over door, connecting it to the CP8L brain? Any advice appreciated! wired

Hi, I am a local handyman & one old lady that I do work for has an alarm in the house that was present when she moved in 2 years ago. There is no manual or paperwork on the system & no code numbers. The flap has a label inside for a service phone number but none is given. The only ID is the number 9800 on the front. I am trying to find out: 1. The make (neighbour thinks it may have been Bulldog) 2. Where can a manual be sourced? 3. How does she go about getting the code or setting a new one? At present she has no security. Can anyone help? Thanks, Nick

Hello After upgrading my old hard wired alarm system (Self installed 1994) using texecom parts i noticed that the Oddessy 3 bellbox looks a bit bland and DIY in its plain unmarked style. However I found a security company that sell screen printed decoy and live texecom bellboxes. When you type the logo on web site it is an actual security company. The picture on the ad was such that you could not make out the colour of the lens.; when it arrived the lens was red to match the company logo. I fitted the cover to my live box. The once green comfot lights now apear orange at night Do different companies use alternative colour lens or should they be blue. IE Police Bl…

I have a keystone k600 wireless receiver which I am trying to wire upto my exsting alarm ( Citadel XR1) so I can have a wireless set/unset capability. I have setup the Alarm zone as a Keyswitch (?) and put the -ve output from the reciever to it. (on the left hand terminal) When i press the transmitter button the alarm starts to set, but when i take me finger of the button, the alarm stops i.e. the single from the transmitter stops therfore the alarm stops setting becuase the circuit is closed (or open ??) but you see what I mean? How can I get this to keep the circuit open i.e. i want to press on, then press off Is this possible. This is my first alarm install, and …
