Hello. I have been given a used panel + 3 RKP (and the other bits). This came from a store that is upgrading to the ATS series. Panel is v6.05 (Portuguese version). Anyway, I have been told that one of the RKPs had taken a bit of water and caused malfunction to the system. It seems it has been decommissioned for a year or so now. I think that it has dried up completely and maybe, just maybe, may work fine. How can I test this without connecting it to the panel? Even if I don't have the tools to do it, do you think a standard electronics repair store can power it up for me and see if it works? Or won't it power up since it won't be connected to a panel? BTW, I wasn't g…

I've made good progress installin my new Premier 24 thanks to help from here... I now just have all zones showing 'tamper'. ie. The display is showing Zone 1-8 as tamper so can't set system. I have wired pir using 6 wires and programmed them as Double Pole. The tamper wires all go back to the pane and I have wired them in series (daisy chain) and then taken the two ends to the Aux Tamp terminals. I am guessing that somewher along the line there must be a wiring fault or maybe a faulty pir, so I plan to check all that. Just wondering is there anything else I should be looking out for?? Also, can someone explain how tamper works please? Is it just another 'normally clos…

Something strange happened with my premier 48 this morning, i set the alarm using my code, but i noticed i'd left a window open, so i sent my better half back in to close it while i started the car etc. Next minute the alarm went off, the panel wouldn't accept her code, it was asking for her prox tag, which she normally uses but didn't have at the time, thus the alarm went off when the time ran out Have i done something wrong somewhere when i set it up, we are both set as master users and have our own code and prox tag.

  5. Hi, I've recently decided to replace my old TECSAFE 250 alarm panel with a Eurosec one from Screwfix. The TECSAFE had two sounders on the outside of the house and I'd like to keep these because they are still working and the batteries are still OK in them. In the TECSAFE 250 alarm panel only one cable comes in from both bell boxes. The TECSAFE manual describes the connections as: AP250 Panel..........................Bell Box SAB Module Bell - -------- black ---------------------> SW- NEG Bell + -------- red ---------------------> +ve Stb - -------- green ---------------------> Strobe - Stb + -------- white -------…

Hi When I moved into this house, I had a hard wired system installed by an approved company. After we were burgled, while the alarm was on, (there were other problems like a pir facing a coal fire) I took some advice and decided to fit a menvier TS690R with phone dialer. It has been running well for a few years now, with only the batteries to replace. The door contacts and PIRs are numbered 1 - 10 and the key fobs 11 - 14. However, as of Saturday I have been unable to set it as it shows 11- Tamper and 12 - Short. I have the full installation manual and user manual and 'Short' is not a code listed. I have tried cancelling all of the key fobs and re-learning them, but w…

I am having difficulty commissioning my Premier 24. Every time I connect battery and do 'kick-start' (without AC connected) the sounder on the panel goes off. I have tried the engineers code (xxxx) on the keypad and also the master user code (yyyy) but neither silence the alarm The keypad also shows zones alrmed but until I can silence the panel I can't really focus on everything else. Any ideas on how to reset the system or why it might be doing this? Is there anything that I need to check for that disables the codes? Thanks.

Hi there, I am in the process of installing a Texecom Premier 24 and using texecom PIRs. Have read lots about end-of-line resistors etc. but not sure of the benefits. I am planning to use 6 cores (have run 8 core cable) and wire direct back to terminal...is there a problem with that? Any support appreciated...

  10. Hello folks, My back door has just been replaced; an old inward-opening wooden door with glass panel is now a new outward-opening UPVC type also with a glass panel. Everest if the brand makes a difference. It is from a small utility room which also has a PIR covering the door from about 2m away - looking across the face of the door (slightly diagonally)so it would pick up any movement immediately from breaking in. The old door had surface-mounted contacts screwed to the door and frame. Everest said it was fine to screw to the door and/or frame but it's not totally obvious where would be best or what to use. The frame has a small unusable bevelled edge up to the door o…

Hey all, I have an Aritech CS235 panel that until yesterday was working fine. Now whenever there is a power change in the house the alarm activates.. For example if I have it on a part set and turn on the cooker the alarm will go off. The event log shows that it thinks someone is opening the back door (an exit/entry point) Its as if some neutral is connected to something somewhere, but nothing has changed in the house since the problem started. Any ideas?

Hi all Successfully firtting my alarm panel and today I came to fit the dialler. I have a veritas R8 panel and purchased a Texecom dialler. Looking through the manual, I see that the R8 has a negative trigger for input 3 on the dialler. So I ran a 6-core cable from panel to dialler. Panel__________ Dialler aux+ ________ 12v Aux - _______ 0V B _________ Trigger 3 Tamp ____________ Tamp I have used the dialler test operation and it tries to call person. However when the alarm goes off, nothing happens and the dialler displays "Ready". Am I missing something, it seems the dialler is no…

This is my first post so please be gentle !! On my daughters alarm panel (Optima compact G3) it is locked up and showing a tamper problem. It has had three false alarms and it has not been set on two of them. By the way I am a keen DIYer and just recently replaced my own alarm system. A local thunderstorm fried my panel of my home alarm. I replaced the panel with a Texecom veritas 8 and replaced my bellbox with a Texecom odysses. I also replaced one of three pir's which was faulty. I checked all the contacts and tampers and programmed the system and its working great. I did it all with the help from this site, I think its a great one for all budding alarm enthusiast …

Looking to add 525r remote key fobs to an installed alarm system (Minerva TS690r), however alarm was not installed by myself (previous homeowner got alarm company to install it). On checking the installation manual it would appear that the engineer code could be reset by shorting the no defaulting info please. I tried this but could not get anywhere - are there additional steps not listed in the manual to perform (entering master user code) in order to get this to work? My only other options are either to track down the original installer or perform a full factory reset and reprogram the system (time consuming but possible). Thanks, Jim.
