  1. Hi, I've attached a profile plan view of my property. I have wired PIRs and contacts and used wireless where wired is not an option. I have the 9750 control panel with an RFX wireless expander. The question is, where is it ideal to place the RFX expander? I've got a number of RF PIRs and one contact in the home, with a futher 2 more RF PIRs in the garden, one in the garage and one in the shed. The shed PIR is the furthest from the home at 19m. I'm considering whether to put the expander in the loft, towards the rear of the house, or downstairs up on wall as far back as I can in the utility room as close to the garden as possible (can't place it in the kitchen). So I'm …

Hi I have a problem with my alarm. It has started to be triggered the instant my central heating comes on. Pretty sure this is some mains spike/induced voltage. Another member of the boards kindly suggested fitting a suppressor. My understanding of these is that they connect across the DC side of the PSU and have a link to earth. When I looked at my panel (C&K Securit 800L) I discovered that the PSU feeds (12v) AC to the PCB and that the PCB has the rectifier on it so without major surgery to the board I can't fit a suppressor. Does anyone have any ideas what I can do? Thanks for any help Jonathan

Had a look round the forum and couldn't find an answer, I've also looked at all the info available from the suppliers on the unit and can't find an answer either. We have a Scantronic 9751 (Bells Only). I'll confess I'm not a DIYer but have a potential issue with our security company and I was just wondering if anyone could give me a steer. Our alarm triggered while away on holiday and according to our neighbours it was going on/off continually over a couple of days (we had something in one of the zones that kept triggering the movement sensor) and the company were finally called out to disconnect the bell box as they couldn't get our key holders either. Acording to th…

Hi everybody, After posting earlier regarding a Citadel XR1. i now find i had the wrong info so i will start again!! I am doing some work on a bungalow that has had a upstairs built therefore needs some mods to existing alarm system. The system is a ADE Optima compact panel with a Accenta RKP. The front door was entry/exit with the panel at the side of the door. The RKP was located at the downstairs bedroom door. The owner wanted to make the back door a entry/exit as well so i relocated the existing RKP at the side of the back door. I also fitted the new RKP on the landing. My problem is that although the alarm sets ok when going out, on entry, the back door contact tri…

hi there, i've come to wire up my panel, what is the most professional way to wire up the aux 12v for the zones, do most people put all the terminals straight to the + & - terminals or do you go to a separate rail first so that its easy to add a zone's aux 12v in the future? Also regarding 12v output on a panel, I noticed that there's only the 0v, do I take the 12v from the network supply and then the 0v is switched (texecom rkp). many thanks

  6. Hi all, First time on the forums, great resource. I've got a Scantronic 9750 with RFX expander. I'm just wondering what the difference is between this model and the 9751. What revisions were made, any bug improvements, etc. One last note, understanding that installation manuals are not published or available here, is that the same for keypads, bell boxes and detectors, infact, any installation manual? Thanks

  7. Hi Have a C&K 800L. Been in the house for ages with no problems. Recently if has started triggering every few days at EXACTLY 06:00. Doesn't happen every day but when it does happen it's always at 06.00 - you could set your watch by it. All I can think is that the electric company have started doing some kind of switch over at 6am and that a surge or drop in voltage is causing problems. I have checked the battery and charing fuse and have simulated a full power loss and all seems OK so there is something distinctly odd about this. When it triggers it's as if the entry zone has been activated as the panel beeps (but a more rapid beep than the normal entry route so…

Hi everybody, i hope somebody can advise on the following: I am working on a Citadel XR1 panel with a matching RKP. The property is a bungalow so the exit/entry (final door) is the front door - zone 1. The pir's are as follows: Kitchen, living room, dining room, downstairs bedroom and vibration detector on window - all zone 2 - is this ok? Back door - zone 5! When the owner sets alarm to go to bed, she has to walk back into room to get upstairs. this zone(2) is time inhibited. This is fine until she re-enters to unset alarm and it then goes into immediate alarm! When leaving the house, she now wants to use the back door but the nearest RKP is near the bedroom so agai…

Hello, I am trying to wire up an SD1 dialler. The only part I am not 100% sure of is wiring it to the panels comms port. The panel removes 5 volts positive in alarm. So if I set the SD1

Just a quick post to say that my alarm's up & running and thanks for all the help & advice. In the end the spec I went for was: Texecom Premier 48 AMDT detectors (x5) for the rooms downstairs & the upstairs landing - wired T-EOL & with a test output from the board. Shock detector for upstairs landing window - used with the night set to fill in for the upstairs PIR Door detector on front door. Panic alarm in bedroom Speech & text dialler 2 x RKPs - downstairs linked to a daytime set & upstairs linked to the night time set. Finished programming & switched everything on at the weekend & all seems to work ok so far. Programming the pa…

  14. Hi. We have the following: Scantronic 9752 Control Panel c/w 9940 Type Keypad Bell box: Texecom ODYSSEY 3E LIVE BACK PLATE GRADE3 The texecom instructions advise how to connect to scantronic as follows: Scantronic 9448 to 9800: +12v=A, Bell=B, TR=C, 0V=D, STR=S However we don't know what A,B,C,D,S connection points are on the scantronic? We connected it how we thought, but have a permanent tamper on it. Presume it is from control panel end, and not at the actual bell box wiring. Can anyone help? Many Thanks Rachel

  15. Hello I would be appreciative of any help or advice. We have lived in a house in Surrey for 12 months, and for that time I have been looking at various wires poking out of walls, reminding me that the previous owner didn't have the alarm fitted as a new build option. I have found 11/12 wires around the house ( 8 core ), all bunched up under the stairs, with a fitted spur, and telecom cable already to go. As we have a dog and a cat, I called in a local company and was quoted
