Fitted a Texecom alarm a couple of years ago and fitted the ADE Reson8 bell box plus the same dummy box with a flashing LED module. Neither the LED's in the live box or the dummy box have ever been very bright, which is rather frustrating banghead when all my neighbours' bell boxes flash brightly (different boxes of course). In fact you have to stand quite close just to see my dim lights. I've tried moving the LED module closer to the blue lense but that didn't work. There's no problem with the voltage, the cable doesn't have to go very far to the live box. Is it because the Reson8 is designed like this? Badly.

Hi folks, I'll be installing a Premiere 48 in my home during the next few weeks and I need to get communications issues resolved. Of course I'd like to use Wintex to upload to the panel. My home office PC is located in a room that is one story below the location of the panel. The cable-length distance is around 10 metres from panel to PC. Can I extend the cable on the PC Com to cover this distance and plug into the office PC? Or do I need to use a laptop (that I don't have), or network using the (expensive) COMIP unit? I'm grateful for any advice. Many thanks in advance, Helmi

Hi Replaced my mum's TS690 with an M800. 2 LCD panels 1 bell box 1 door switch on the LCD at the back door 3 PIRs on zone 0001 using resistors (amazingly I got it to work) 3 PIRs on zone 0002-0004 using tamper circuits All up and running and working, except... I can't quite figure out how to program the entry point so that it gives you 15 seconds grace to plug in the code. At the moment the alarm goes of immediately. The door switch is on the LCD panel zone 1011 - should that be a separate ward and group for entry? The manual isn't terribly clear. At the mo its all on one ward and one group. All the zones are set up to be normal alarm except the door switch which…

Anyone here used the Texecom ComIP module for their Premier panels? I've been trying to get my one working, and after speaking to Texecom tech support, I'm still stuck. Nothing to do with the standard firewall, port issues etc. Texecom tell me I should be able to ping the panel, but I'm not sure if it would support this. Anyone have any direct experience? Thanks,

Hello anyone who reads this i am new to this and any forum and i have a problem with my alarm system. I have an Accenta + alarm that was already installed in the house i have bought but i do not have a manual. My little boy has worked out how to climb up to the alarm panel and has pressed loads of buttons on the pad and now i don't know what he has done. When the alarm is NOT set everytime we walk in zone three the pad beeps and the light comes on. It is really annoying. When we set the alarm it appears to be ok. Can anyone help? Thanks Pinktyson

Hi all. I have a question about the Honeywell EMPS-75 magnetic contact. This device has 5 terminals, 2 "silver-coloured" and the other 3 "brass-coloured". I've checked the 2 "silver-coloured" terminals with a meter and, sure enough, they close/short when the contact sections are brought together (this tells me it's a normally-closed reed switch, ready to be wired across the zone terminals in the panel). However, all the marketing material says that it also incorporates a tamper loop. I've checked all possible permutations across all of the other contacts, and everything is permanently open (infinite resistance). I just can't see how there can be a tamper loop in this de…

I have already posted this question on the General Security forum, but it should have been here as it is a DIY question. Texecom premier 24 - com2400 My alarm is now fully installed and working, altough I have 1 question concerning the Com 2400 SMS. After tripping the alarm the message arrives to my mobile but takes approx 4 to 5 mins to arrive, is this normal (I'm no expert on SMS text's). This has already been answered (didn't know a text took 5 minutes !). However, after the text is delivered the keypad shows a coms failure fault message (could this be a result of the text taking more time than it should?). I'll add the system settings if this will help in any diag…

Hi there after a bit of advice, I'm doing a home diy alarm system using a texecom premier system, I am planning on having a prox. panel in the hall to set and un-set, i'm wondering whether to have another panel on the landing to set and un-set at night/morning - my fear is that over time we'll forget to set it at night or won't be bothered to go back downstairs - can this be done with two panels? - I presume yes. And do you think this is a good idea? I plan to have a pir on the landing which will need to be activated when setting from the panel in the hall day time, and then to be ignored when set at night from the panel on the landing. I want the system to be simple t…

Hi all, I have just bought a new house with a EuroSec CP8L alarm and Gardiner Technology Novagard 2 sounder box. Before I move in I want to add a bit of extra wiring, extra telephone sockets, network points etc. Anyway at one point I want to stick a telephone wire through one of the holes the alarm installer has made, problem is the hole is only just big enough for his wires. So I want to remove the wires drill a bigger hole and put my phone wire in as well. The wires currently in the hole are for the internal sounder, control keypad, and 2 PIR's. Not being sure how the alarm will like the remote keypad being removed and reattached while powered up I am guessing probab…
