Change the resistor setting in the menu your missing that bit I don't really do these panels but last time I did that's all I had to do , the delta E is it a grade 3 bell you got? Or is it a delta plus? The tamper setting won't work correctly if you don't do the menu option resistor setting , check in the manual

Unless panel is locked won't do anything And you understand if it isn't locked and you default , everything will default and you will have to programme from scratch! Or you trying to default codes only , defaulting info isn't given out on this forum by the way Why not just get the original installer to reset for you? Otherwise you may run into lots of.problems
