Hi there, I wonder if some of the resident experts could help me out here. I have a Premier panel installed with zone expander, dialer etc. and it all works lovely. I want to hook my shed into the system using a wireless link from Keystone (the K600 receiver) - hardwiring isn't an option for me with the shed at the minute. The receiver can be configured to output either a positive or a negative. To hook it up to a zone on my Premier panel, do I therefore need to power a relay, perhaps using 12v(+) from the panel and then use the Negative Output from the receiver to switch the relay which in turn will be connected to an alarm zone ? Sorry if it's a thick question ! Po…

Hello Can someone advise on why when I switch off my ring main that supplies the Alarm sysstem (Accenta 8) that the external alarm kicks off and on swiching the power back on the internal sounder then kicks off until I enter the code. Is it because there is a backup battery in the external sounder that has had it? :!:

Help - Any suggestions anyone ? My Optima alarm is powered off a 3 amp downs stairs lighting circuit. My Optima alarm has a fault which is activated in either of two ways. 1) By isolating the downstairs lighting circuit at the fuse box. This results in a subdued siren going off ( not the main really loud siren) - but the problem is that the alarm can not then be reset at the panel ( as this has no power). This means that I can not work on the lighting circuit without the alarm going off. When I re-set the power at the fuse box - the main siren then turns on, but this can then be reset from the panel. 2) Turning on a specific light switch ( on same ring main as alar…

My alarm installer has used surface mounted door sensors, ie magnet on the door, reed switch on door frame. I want him to use the hidden type, ie the magnet is put into a hole drilled into the door and the reed sensor in a matching hole drilled into the frame. The installer says he's not allowed to do that, the British Standard that he has to follow apparently states that, for outward opening external doors, the reed switch/magnet cannot be the hidden type but must be surface mounted inside the door. Is this true?

Can anyone help, I have moved into a house with an accord xpc which I reprogrammed last night through engineers mode. It was previously monitored by //.National Installer.// but I had too cancel this as I could not afford to keep it on. I had some new phone extension sockets installed and the engineer disconnected the alarms red and black wires inside the BT master socket (my fault - another story). I have programmed the alarm to ring mine or my partners mobile if it goes off, obviously this will not work until wires are reconnected. Trying to be clever I opened up the BT box last night to reconnect wires. Did not know how to as phone extension cable was using numbe…

Hello all, Ive been looking around your forum and unfourtanetly have not been able to find the answer to my problem. So i thought i would just ask. Thanks in Advance for any responses. I recently moved into new accommodation, which has a securit 700L installed. The alarm had been working fine everyday for about 5 weeks. Then on Christmas day i set the alarm left the house, and on return to the house 12hours later, the internal sounder(exiting sound) was still going. SO the following day i investigated to see if it had been set properly. But it was still doing the same. I tried doing the walk test, but although the PIR's are sensing me the panel doesnt show/beep th…

Hi, The veritas 8C that I installed some years ago has locked out following an interruption in the electricity supply. It will now not accept any input on the keypad, User or Engineer, the power button is not illuminated but there is power to the unit as it alarms when power is removed. I have lost the installation manual so I am stuck as to what to do, I know I can't get an installation manual after reading previous mailings, any ideas? Thanks Chris

We have just moved into a new property which has a RF8200 wireless system installed from A1 Security and Electrical Ltd. We have no instruction manual and the previous occupiers didn't know the code, so we can't use the system. When you turn the power on the sounder goes off straight away. I've checked and the manufacturer went into receivership and the company was disolved in 2001. Do I give up, rip it all out and start again, or is there still hope? Thanks

Over the past week there's been a constant high pitched sound in our dining room (and no, its not the kids!). Really uncomfortable: can't stay in the room for long. Also difficult to locate the exact source of the sound because of its pitch. Having tried to rule out everything else, we think it might be the alarm sensor that is making the noise. The sensor is part of a Securit 800L system, coming up 3 years old. Has anyone come across this as a fault and could give some advice? Many thanks!

Hi I have an //.National Installer.// Accord XPC alarm. It is a bell only system not a monitored. My problem is, on installation the engineer entered my mobile phone number, so on activation it would call me. I was recently made redundant and returned my mobile to my ex employer. Now I need to either disable this function completey or re enter my new mobile number. Please help. jasonrudkin@msn.com

Hi I recently moved into a property which has an //.National Installer.// installed alarm, however the control pad is displaying an Error in Zone D - As the control panel has no ID on it whatsoever and I have no manual I contacted //.National Installer.//. After ringing them 3 times they finally sent out an incorrect manual (Surely they should know which panel was installed?) The result of this is I can't reset the alarm, they want £75 for an engineer visit but I don't want to give them my cash as their service was terrible. The panel has a rectangular LCD and the digits are accessed via a pull down panel below this, the system also comes with remote control keyfobs …
