Hi, Reading through these pages, there seems to be some dislike for ADE panels,Accenta, Optima and so on. Can anyone enlighten me as to why this should be? I have installed these products for 12 years or more ( around 200 installs)and can honestly say that thay have been fine, with very minimal call backs to the systems I have installed, and never had to replace a panel. So, I am wondering about the negativity towards their products. wired

Could anyone help? I have an Optima 2 Plus and on the box on the wall the red Power light is flashing and bleeping every second. It says in the manual this is to warn of the urgency to restore power and to call the engineer. As always the engineer will not be able to come out straight away. The code doesn't seem to do anything nor do any of the buttons. I think there may have been a power cut here today so maybe that has triggered it off. When taking the front off there appear to be 5 coloured wires. Any help will be gratefully received. Thanks

Looking for a company to give me a price for the following Attend site Connect a GSM autodialler to an existing alarm panel or supply/fit new panel with built in GSM autodialler, whichever is cheapest. Configure to send messages to my chosen ARC Provide guarantees and NACOSS documentation Separately, a maintenance cost for the above I have upwards of 1000 sites available, spread all over the England, mainly in large towns i.e. not up a mountain. Any questions or queries can be sent to ken@teamsecuritysystems.co.uk, but please don't be too technical, I'm a manager, not an installer!

Sometimes when we have a power cut for a long period of time my SAB bell box on my alarm system starts to sound. I have replaced the battery in the alarm panel many times, and upgraded it size, however we often have power cuts for days. Is there anyway i can silence the SAB bell box when i have a power cut, without it having to complete its 20 minute cut out time, i.e cross wires in the alarm panel? I have thoughout about switching it to a SCB box, but this is less secure and i am not too sure whether my panel supports SCB. regards, paul.

I recently moved into a new house and declined to buy the Yale wireless solution that was installed by the previous owners. I'm sure it would have done the job, but I was already considering getting a wired solution and didn't want to waste money on something I'd be taking down in a few months. Anyway. I had a local company (NSI accredited) do a survey and give me a quote. The guy who came round seemed very thorough and professional, but before I sign on the dotted line I just want to make sure I'm not being had! It is a 3 bedroom terrace and he quoted for 1 door contact (front door) and 4 PIR's with a live box at the front and a dummy in the back. Main panel on second…

This is probably a stupid question but i will ask it anyway. I have a basic wired system to which i want to add contacts to one door which currently does not have them. The door is a shiny new aluminium one where the door is recessed a little into the frame. I know i will need to build up one contact to "meet" the other but how are they best attached to an aluminium door ? I would prefer not to drill if possible it but i dont like the idea of double sided tape either! Any other ideas? Any comments greatfully received.

Hi, We currently have a concept 6 4 zone alarm. The basic set up is this. The main alarm box is in the airing cupboard with a remote key panel by the front door. The 4 downstairs rooms have a PIR each to make up the four zones. This system is very old and i'm considering replacing the system with a new one. With a new system I'd like to replace the PIR in the kitchen with a door sensor as the dog lives in there. I'd like to use the existing wiring and PIR's. Any suggestions. and what am i looking at cost wise? Thanks for any help
