I have recently moved into house with OptimaXL4 with no instructions. I have seen a copy of pdf of instructions from other posted 'help' enquiries, however they dont help in my situation. Alarm was set off accidently via panic button but I cannot get back to 'day' by pressing reset button. Red 'attack' light is still showing (and power light), but no strobe or alarm sound. Any suggestions?

Hi there. Please can someone sell me or help me find a PCB for a Wickes wired burgular alarm system. The unit is about 8 years old and at the time Wickes sold a 12 button control panel and a 9 button panel unit. I have a 12 button unit which has been extremely reliable but now has problems. Having taken out the PCB a small area of the circuit board has burnt out where the 12v input enters the board. I have contacted the manufactures (GET PLC) who no longer have complete 12 button type wired alarm control panels or PCB for the same. I know its a bit of a long shot but could someone out there advise where I might get a spare part or panel, or if you have an old one in…

Hi there, I'm not sure if this is s suitable forum, if not please forgive me & I'd appreciate a pointer to the right one. I'm looking for a domestic safe with a max price of around £400. I did decide on a Chubb Blackbox with electronic locking but I've subsequently found the Burton Safes Torino which also has electronic locking. Whereas the name "Chubb" carries weight as regards reliability etc. I'm unsure about the quality of Burton's safes & I get the feeling that their Torino model is a resale of foreign manufacture (presuambly Italian with that name). The Chubb has a cash rating of £2k, the Burton £3k but I don't know if these are just manufacturers recom…

On Wednesday there was a power failure in the area and the Veritas R8 was on part setting so i decided to disarm the alarm. 2 hours later the internal and external alarm started sounding, i was unable to disarm as the keypad as it was not responding. So to turn off i had to disconnect the internal battery. The alarm has now been installed for about 9 years. When the main power did come back on the alarm started working and the next day when i measured internal battery it read 12.3volts. So may questions are: 1. What does the alarm do when main power is lost? 2. Are my internal batteries not recharging fully? (in bell box and controller) 3. How do i replace the batterie…

Hello All, Hope someone may be able to help out with this one... We recently moved into our new house with a Optima 2 plus alarm system. All has been fine recently, except that the alarm will suddenly go off whether it has been set or not (including at 5:20am this morning). The alarm shows a Tamper in Zone 6. We found a document left by the previous owner for the company that installed the alarm, but they will "call us back over the next couple of days" to advise if they may be able to help or not. I not sure we (and our neighbours) can wait that long though. When pressed, they advised that they may be able to come out and have a look sometime next week. Does anyo…

I too have inherited a monitored //.National Installer.// system from the previous owner of my house, who didn't leave any info or even the setting codes. I removed the system several months ago due to a total refurbishment and am now contemplating reinstalling it. The panel is an Accord XPC which I would want to set up in a bells-only configuration. I've got the installer and programming manuals and I'm reasonably technically competent. I've installed new cabling for 3 door switches, 6 PIRs, two keypads and two panic buttons. So, my questions: - Can I connect PIRs in parallel so that I can install these sensors on the Accord XPC 8 zone panel, or should I get anoth…

Hello all, I've just moved in to a flat. I'm looking to secure it and like the idea of having a auto dialler to notify me when the alarm goes off. Its on the 3rd floor, but just in case I want to be safe than sorry. I have been looking at: Yale HSA3800 (too many bits for small flat) Respose SA5 (again, too many bits) etc. Is there a autodialler with say, 2 PIR, 1 door contact, and a bell box? I'd prefer it the alarm was wirefree. Can anyone recommend pls? thanks

I have an 8 zone accenta panel installed about 5 years ago no problems with it at all last night it went off itself when it was'nt set the keypad indicated tamper only way to get it to stop was to set the system set of an alarm activation and then enter my code and reset. Then today the siren outside out of the blue started making a high pitched bleeping sound all by itself no activation as the system was'nt set, again the only way to stop it was to activate an alarm and reset, anybody any ideas what the problem is, there was no indication on the keypad of a fault and I have no idea how to get it sorted its all very strange indeed. Does anybody have an idea what could …

Looking at the manual(s) i believe the sounder wiring should be; A to +Ve 12v supply B to - Ve sounder trigger C to -Ve tamper return D to - Ve supply 0v S to strobe - Can someone confirm if this is ok or have i got it completely wrong ? Many thanks in advance.

hi,guys was just wondering if you could help me,wiring an extension for a customer, and she asked me to move the bellbox,i dont usually touch alarms but this was straightforward or so i thought.when i took the box off the alarm activited so i linked together the green and yellow(the tamper wires)entered the code to turn off the sounder,i then wrote down where each wire needed to be connected back up.I then moved the box onto the opposite side of the house with no new connections made and wired it up as before, but then when i went to the keypad it had no power. So my conclusion was that i must of pulled on the bell wire to hard and must of dissconnected somthing in the main …
