Recently moved into a new house and the previous didn't give us the code to use the alarm (Accenta 8). Is there a way of getting this reset without paying a huge amount of money?!

Hi I need help i got left a veritas 8c alarm from my late father and my friend says he can wire it up if he had the diagram on where the wires for the 2 pirs go and the door sencor. any help would be very gratefull thanks Sarah

House built 1990 with existing Scantronic 9000 series system. Moved in 1995 - alarm system not active - sellers suggested it worked ok though. Fuse left out - when replaced got numerous functions going off including fault messages on display. Since 1995 replacement doors (front,rear,patio) have made redundant the original sensors which I noticed in thes three door areas. Hi, I am currently in the process of running the cabling in for an alarm i'm going to have fitted. Trying to save cash running cable in myself. (Alarm is Texecom Veritas excel - metal box) I have read that the alarm cable should not be run next to mains cable and lighting cable etc. Is this correct? In most places i can do this but there are a few places where wires will have to cross mains/lighting cables (at right angles) or run alongside them. Could anyone tell me if what i have read is true and if so what i can do to reduce the risks of false alarms/spikes etc? Thanks James

We've had a Scantronic 9800 alarm for the past 8 years and it works perfectly except that we can't change the user code. We have the user manual and followed the instructions several times but each time it seems to just ignore the new setting. We also know the engineer code and that also works fine. Does this mean we need a new control panel?

My Optima G3 keeps giving 1 beep every 5 minutes - how can I fix this ? otherwise no sleep tonight!!!

Help!! I've just moved house and inheritted a large shed fitted with a burglar alarm. The alarm model is a Ademco Accord 8. The problem I am experiencing is that the damn thing won't set itself. At present it is showing a day, power and tamper led, from this I assuming something is wrong with the alarm, hence the red tamper led. THe previous owners have left me the entry code and the engineer's code which leaves me to believe that they installed it themselves. When I enter the code (not engineers) to set it it sounds like it setting but doesn't. What is the easiest way to reset the tamper led?, as this will then probably enable me to then set the alarm.

brand new to alarm systems bloke in shop sold me texecom azura 360 tempest external sounder & stobe unit plus Accenta/Optima G3 8sp 400n intruder alarm system only -ve strobe connection on bell box but on manual of control panel it shows + and - strobe connections am i missing something or are these units not compatable :!:

Hi, I am aware that the texecom sell their excel model with the option of a 1.2mm steel enclosure. Is this just for extra security or is there a different reason? How does the metal box stand against the hum of the transformers that has been reported on some models? ie does it make the noise louder? Thanks

I am considering buying and having installed a wireless security alarm from a company called APT - does anybody know about these systems and or this company? Another company told me the wireless systems get set off by baby minders, and car alarm fobs.

Is there a standard colour code to use when wiring intruder alarms?

Hi, Does anybody know why this radio DSC power832 bleeps intermitently whilst unset. It could happen twice a night and then not do it for a week or so. The troulbe light indicates a fault but when you *2 i think all that comes up is general service required? I have tried to reset the system and clear the service timers etc. Have alos read on the forum about power problems, can someone highlight me on this. Regards rgj
