Does anyone have any experience with these sorts of detectors that you'd get in older bell boxes? Or know how they worked? I have just made one, using the most simple bits possible, two resistors, an LDR and a 2n2222 transistor. Did they work like that a beam of light getting interrupted, or was it more advanced? Been testing mine, and I couldn't get it to false alarm at all. Thanks, Gabs

Hi I have a data centre job the customer requires Paxton access control installing on 4 doors the main entrance door and 3 internal lobby doors all read in read out. The old Kantech system auto set the galaxy intruder alarm on the last person swiping out I’m trying to mimic this with the Paxton any ideas ? Other than setting the controllers to turnstile mode so reader 1 read in activates relay 1 and reader 2 read out activates relay 2 as an action possibly through a logic controller to get round the problem. anyone else had a similar situation ? any suggestions would be greatly appreciated Paxton support have drawn a blank.

Hi Everyone, Hope all is well in the installer world. A few of you may remember my installation of CCTV and Galaxy panels of a few years ago (and much mirth over drainpipes ;)). I'm going to be building a large extension on the work premises and although the current G2-44 with it's extra RIO panel should hold it's own, the analogue Techwin CCTV is going to need an upgrade to a 16 channel IP system. Will probably upgrade the home system at the same time, this time with a bit more Symmetry perhaps... It seems that a lot has changed in the time since the last install with IP being the go-to thing. Hi guys, so I just swapped my g2-12 for the flex 20, I have a Rio in the loft so had to upgrade. I’ve daisy chained two keypads and the Rio but I can’t see the inputs or outputs on the Rio. It’s been a while since I touched galaxy but I have fitted hundreds, am I doing something silly or have things changed? ive addressed it 2 then 3, tried 2 different rio’s and I’m getting the 0.9 second on and off green led on the Rio. Panel, 2 keypads neither Max, one Rio, panel can see 5 system modules. thanks in advance guys.

Hi guys, I’m going to upgrade my galaxy g2-12 to a flex. I only have about 12 zones and realistically I won’t need many more however I’ll probably got for the 50. Does the 50+ have all the extras? The Ethernet module, output board etc? also, any recommendations where to buy? I’d prefer to buy online, CTS Direct the cheapest? thanks guys.

New member here, trying to get to grips with a SD1+ system. Installed new back up battery, but can't clear the panel removal trigger, got two keypads, one seems to be initiated ready to programme and the other has the panel trigger which I can't seem to clear. Any advice would be great. Just want to use the alarm with out a telephone line, don't know if thats possible, or whether that would invalidate our insurance. Thanks

Hi can anyone help me I need so replace my internal sounder I think I have bought the correct replacement. the old one looks like a CQR soint2 with blue plastic insert for the cover screw inside just a simple connector bloc as the pictures show the new one I have bought is a CQR soint2 hi-lo and has circuit board and unfamiliar connections on it Am I right my green and white is my tamper and red = 12v and black negative hi or low or have I bought the wrong thing, if not how do I wire it in correctly thanks

Hi all, I've got a com ip which has been working perfectly until now. NO SIGNALS at all being sent to the monitoring station, fitted a new com ip and reprogrammed all settings, cross checked settings with other working com ISP's that are still signalling and all correct. Texecom tech have no idea at the moment. Anyone else having any issues with these com ip modules. If anyone has any fixes for this I would appreciate any replies. Thanks in ad ance.

Hi guys, Looking for a bit of info. Moved from Alarms to door access some time ago so my intruder knowledge is a bit rusty. I fitted a galaxy g2 12 in our house, I had one in the shed and we needed something. I had both a MK7 and a MK8 keypad connected up and both were working. I tried to add a Rio to the bus and now only one keypad works. I’ve checked the Honeywell data comparison sheet but the G2 12 isn’t even on it lol. Question 1 is, does this panel support more than one keypad? It definitely did. Question 2, Is the flex 20 any good? Obviously I want to use my existing setup so any upgrade would be Honeywell. I’m not a fan of plastic hous…
