HI ive just moved into a house which has an Advantage ZX6 alarm fitted. The previous owner didnt use the system as she had a dog which kept setting the sensors off. However, all the sensors are still on the walls and the panic button is still on the wall in the bedroom. There are no lights on the display of the box - does this mean it has been disconnected?? If so, can I just rip the panic alarm off the wall or, as i have been told, does it have its own curcuit? Also, i dont have the code. Any help would be greatly apprecciated.

Picked up a copy of a "Maintenance Agreement from an NSI Gold Installer "Shall attend any call out at the earliest opportunity, subject to the Company's other commitments at that time, but in any case upon the same day as the request for attendance is requested, and make good the system in accordance with either paragraph 2 or 3 above" I thought a 4hr responce(or by agreement) was the requirement. This company can either hang its customer by a string our achieve the impossible in the wee small hours. Is this normal for NSI Gold companies

One of my HP PIRs doesn't seem to trigger the alarm. It detects motion fine. Its LED indicator shows green when motion is detected. Other PIRs in the house would show green then red and triggers the alarm. Any idea? Thanks!

Hi - I have recently moved into a house and inherited an ADE Optima XM6 panel which does not seem to work correctly. I have bought an ADE Compact G3 panel to replace the XM6 with, but ned the following help. Obviously, as soon as I power down the XM6 or remove anywires, the tamper circuit kicks in and sets off the external siren. I dont have an engineers manual, but presume some sore of mode is needed to be able to silence everything whilst I swap the wires over to the new panel. All/ any help appreciated!! ey up! I have an Optima XM installed which has been working fine for a number of years now. A few days ago I had to turn the electric off for about 15 minutes. Since turning in back on the alarm has been completley dead - EXCEPT for a red power light. None of the keys are working, I have taken the front off and disconnected the battery (although I suspect it may need a new battery - not been changed for a while) but to no success. Can anyone suggest anything? I'm in the Wigan area. Many thanks in advance...! Andy

Hi, I have a 100fps Kodicom DVR card with 4 inputs, and the software. I was wondering how I could take advantage of the PTZ controls within the program - generally the hardware needed to control the cameras. I have one camera that has a port in the back for focus/zoom control via RS-232, but I have no idea on how to rig it up. Any help would end hours of resultless google searching. Thanks heaps, Nathan Manzi

Hi everyone, I got 2 questions to ask 1. Recently the back up battery died in my house alarm system since the battery was replaced whenever attempting to set the alarm error code no.99 appears on the keypad display. Doeas anyone know how to solve this error 2. My girlfriends house has the same alarm system fitted but I am unable to change the alarm code. I was advised to look behind some of the panels for a number by the alarm company but there was no number. Do you have any advice?

Hello all.. I have galaxy gold and a number of galaxy systems in family houses. I would like to remotely control them with the galaxy gold software. I have the galaxy gold software working with my modem and it dials out ect.. But what i was wondering is how does the panel know to 'pick up' the line? IE. when the software rings out.. the you hear the RING RING.. RING RING as usual.. but im wondered how the panel knows from here. Once it has picked up im guessing it creates a beep similar to the software and then they start talking. Any help would be great. Bob

I have an Accenta G3 that was installed a couple of years ago. I now need to change the 3 programs to cover different zones. I have found the installation instructions on the web and it seems relatively straightforward, except I need the engineers code. Obviously, the installers didn't give us the code when they installed it and I've tried the standard ####. I've phoned the installers and they won't give me the engineers code. They would want
