Wiring A Galaxy Keypad

Featured Replies

Hello there,

i am an ex-engineer and a galaxy 8plus which im installing and im wondering if the keypad HAS to be wired in "elden" (is it spelt that??) cable or can i get it working with ordinary?

If so, where could i buy it from.. i still have hundreds of meters of alarm cable and detectors ect.

Twixy

Ah, thanks mate.

I knew it was something along those lines lol.

Righty oh, i will try and find some of it.

Unless you know any where?

It MUST be wired in Belden 8723 or equivalent, NOT standard alarm cable.

Otherwise you WILL have a bucket full of grief with it. yes.gif

Service Engineer and all round nice bloke :-)

Right ok.. i will deff wire in that.

Also, this might be a bit dumb but the property i am going to install in.. it seems to be that i will need to wire very close to, if not with, electical cables... if i use the screened cable i have (6 core) will this be ok... (connecting the screen foil/wire to the earth)

Not ideal, but if there was absolutely positively no feasible way to get the cables in anywhere else but by mains cables then yes, screened cables would be the ones to use.

I would strongly advise looking at trying to g a different route though.

Yeah i have tried to find other locations.. it would only be a couple of the cable runs tho.. but i will wire all in screened
