Kodicom DVR Pan Tilt Zoom - What's needed?

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have a 100fps Kodicom DVR card with 4 inputs, and the software. I was wondering how I could take advantage of the PTZ controls within the program - generally the hardware needed to control the cameras. I have one camera that has a port in the back for focus/zoom control via RS-232, but I have no idea on how to rig it up.

Any help would end hours of resultless google searching. ;)

Thanks heaps,

Nathan Manzi

hi, you need to have an I/O card too with your kmc card and the software. You plug the rs-232 in the I/O card and the little connector who come's with the card ...in the com port 1 of your pc to the I/O card... after this you can go in the settings of your software and choose wich kind on ptz you have and what protocole you use and everything..... but without the I/O card...forget it ;)

unless you bought the product from e-bay, because it doesn't work. the software and hardware are suspect. spoke to the kodicom rep about this, they do not supply to anyone but trade. the local lan network for statics is ok ,but the wan software is ****.good luck

ps if you get it working tell me how as i got burned this year by a" reputable sales person"!!!!!! ;)
