Hi I have an old Abacus system. It was working perfectly. Then I had my front door changed and the alarm light doesn't work on the house. Anybody familiar with the wiring for the Abacus 12 system or think they can help. I have the original installation manual and installation wiring setup. The company telephone numbers I have for support no longer work. I'm SE London Brockley/Peckham. Please let me know if you think you can help.

Hello, I came across a Scantronic 9600 System today, they are a bit before my time. When performing the procedure of defaulting the Engineer code due to the age the IC8 chip it was brittle and damaged. On the chip were 2 lines as follows 93CS66B1 92A422 My question is, is it as simple as getting a new chip and popping in then setting up again or is there more to it? Also found a similar post and this was recommended for the replacement chip, would this work?: https://www.google.com/search?q=24C16%2FM24C16-WBN6P+DIP-8+Serial+I²C+Bus+EEPROM&oq=24C16%2FM24C16-WBN6P+DIP-8+Serial+I²C+Bus+EEPROM&…

Hi Chaps Wondered if you could help. Ive a Scantronics 9651 with engineers codes etc. i recently moved a PR Sensor for decorating and tripped a fuse on the board. While out of use (awaiting fuses) I took the opportunity to remove the keypad and clean the contacts as several buttons were not working properly. Afterwards I changed the relevant fuse and despite having codes I’m unable to reset my system from a Bell Temper & Aux DC Fault. Any tips would be gratefully appreciated. many thanks Steve

I need to add some extra zones to a DA Systems Abacus 8R panel. Does anyone have a zone splitter or any Stella PIRs (they have built in splitters) for sale? I know it's a 20 year old system but it still works perfectly.

Hello, I am looking for advice on a Karizma iD system installed in a house i have bought. I am in the process of installing down lights and needed to isolate the lighting system but unfortunately the alarm system is also connected to this supply. The issue is that when i cut off the supply, the alarm starts to instantly sound and there is no power to the keypad to enter my code. Does this mean the main back up battery is dead? Any help would be great. Thanks John

Hi all, i am moving my internal alarm speaker in the upstairs landing, one thing that just occurred to me is that the speaker is driven by low voltage ac, what i would like to know is if the small ac voltage to drive the speaker is enough to interfere with other alarm cables on the system? I plan to run alarm cable from the panel to the new speaker location in the landing following the same route the rest of the alarm cables, my concern is one of the alarm cables upstairs supplies a keypad. The cable lengths from the alarm panel up to the attic are 20-30m long. Am i worrying over nothing? Is this ac voltage enough to interfere with other devices or is it only mains volta…

Hello, I have a Ademco Accord 8 system and I disconnected keypad about 3 years ago and decided to reconnect it and notice I must have blown a fuse. I replaced the fuse and switched on and now it’s in tamper mode - Buzzing. The issue is I don’t know the code for it as forgotten it. I found a way of resetting back to master reset although as it’s in tamper mode. Will it let me do that and if I don’t enter the current code will it signal the blues and 2s?! Bit of a catch 22 - I’ve just taken out the fuse that I blown to key pad for now. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can reset back to factory settings?

Hello all, Firstly I am not an installer or in the trade, however I feel I am fairly competent/knowledgeable in setting up (not installing) a new alarm system, as I have some experience with my Scantronic 9751 (Stage 1 reset and amending zones, etc) No doubt you are the experts who install these alarms daily so just needed some advice. In simple I was decorating a room and the typically the plaster came off with the wall paper! Now the room needs plastering, so this mean't putting the current PIR into NOT IN USE (NU) mode, with no engineers code, I did the Stage 1 reset and then put the PIR into NU mode. I just felt more comfortable le…

I am fitting a panel to a property in the Philippines and i need to use two separate keypads RKP1 will be in the main house and i would like to make the entry exit contact one of the zones from the keypad as it reduces the cabling requirement. Is this possible and what zones do they map in to the system as ? The second keypad is in the store room again an entry exit on RKP2 for the local area only (this is otherwise a 24 hour area) when i have one movement sensor and and entry zone on this where do they map into the system ? When commissioning a second smartcom temporally to my network the second smartcom overwrote the the settings of the first on…

Hi, My elderly parents have a Scantronic i-on16 security system at their house. When the battery life has ended for one of the radio sensors and needs replacing, the navigation pad glows red and a loud alarm siren sounds until the alarm is switched off. It doesn't seem to matter whether the alarm is set (active) or inactive - the alarm still sounds when a sensor needs new batteries. The user guide says there should be a warning alert/bleeps ahead of this but this does not happen. Perhaps it has been installed incorrectly? It is driving them/their neighbours crazy as happens during the night or when they are on holiday. Can t…

Hi There Need a bit of advice wiring an old yale exterior alarm siren to a new GSM wired/wireless alarm panel Yale siren has 5 terminals - SRN and STB I think are Bell trig and RTN is bell tamper which isn't needed. The other two are obviously + and - 12V The new panel has just two + and - Bell and + and - 12V available. Sorry if this is obvious but can I ask if I can wire this old siren to the new box, I don't want to burn anything out Do I just wire SRN and STB to the Bell + and - and the Bell supply to + and - 12V on the panel? Thanks Al

Hello looking for help or the name of an installer for a Omnicron 9000 series alarm, I have an alarm but due to electrical problems it has lost all its programming, so there are no zones registered in the system I can set user codes and night codes etc. as I have the user manual, but I either need the installation manual (which I can see will be difficult to obtain as I am not an installer) or the contact details of someone in the south wales area who can come out and reprogram the device for me (the original installer has unfortunately died). If someone can provide me the details of an installer I would be most grateful, so I can contact them and set up an ap…
