Evening, one of our engineers took over an M800 on a domestic today and when walk testing ran into problems with the TSX node on the system. All of the zones on the tsx node are showing as closed regardless of its actual state. The panel can see the node and the lid tamper still works on the node. We only have limited spares for menvier kit now due to replacing most of our TS and M series panels for texecom. Still got 40 odd 2500s and 900s out there though. Managed to find a spare TSX node in the office and we tried swapping them over, still nothing. Not sure what firmware it's running, got it written down somewhere though! Not come across this one before,

  2. Hello, I recently had one of these systems installed with a pyronix enforcer alarm. The problem is when the alarm goes off I get no notifications on my android phone, despite every push notification setting being enabled in general and on the app. The installer says they cannot help because it works on their iPhone ok, and they say it is a problem with my phone. Other apps all send push notifications without problems on my phone. I wondered if anyone has experience of this system, and might know a way to resolve this? Thanks, Pete

  4. Hello Good people. I come to You with a question I have about my recently installed DIY home alarm system. I have made a system of a mixture of wired and wireless sensor in case of more clever intruders. When I installed my system I noticed a set of terminals on the back of the alarm system that I can not figure out what is used for. The connections are labelled 'Normally Closed' (NC) + GND - just like my hardwired sensors I reckon. What is this used for? How Can I utilize it? The User manual states that it is for external devices that require a N.C. signal and a motor is given as example. Since the entire system is powered …

Hi I've installed a complete wifi and managed to get it working on the app but it won't connect remotely. I've set up the port forwarding on bt smart hub but it's still the same. I've spoken to texecom and get the same answer it's the port forwarding!! I'm wondering whether I've missed something somewhere. I'm totally at a loss now and would appreciate any help!! Thanks in advance..

Hi guys I hope you are all well. I was wondering what the best dual tec pet tolerant pir is? I have a scantronic 9600 with 3 door contacts and 4 pirs (aritech ev125p) you may be familiar with them, they have proved to be very reliable over the years rarely ever had a false alarm if any. Until! we get a dog, well a chorkie, its kind of a mix between a yorkie and chihuahua, non the less an annoying hyper ankle biter. The issue is whenever someone passes the house or rings the doorbell while we are away the dog would jump on the couch near the window and go mental this triggers the lounge pir and sets off the alarm, It has got the the point where I have to omit the lounge a…

Hi, I wonder if someone can point me in the right direction. I have just had an alarm fitted to my Motorhome. Unfortunately the PIR gives false alarms, this could mean since I have a tracker connected to it I could rush to a site or home for nothing! The PIR is at ceiling level and pointing to the back of the van, where it must see windows etc. When the sun comes roound it will trigger. I believe it is due to heat build up, although I have been told this is not possible. The PIR seems to be a simple one but has an adjustable sensitivity control, I have turned this to minimum and it still gives false alarms. I have checked immediately the alrm has triggered and there ca…

Hi all, I have a question for you experts, something I have been wondering for a while,What voltages do the piezo's run at in the bellboxes? and are they a shock hazard? On many bellboxes I fit I notice the piezo's are connected to a small transformer on the pcb, (at least I think its a transformer it certainly looks like one). When the sounder is operated I notice the voltage pen lights up red around the cables to the piezo's. I know the xenon strobe circuit is definitely a shock hazard (High voltage strobe capacitor and trigger transformer). Do the piezo's run at high voltage when sounding and are they shock hazard? Just curious, thanks

  13. Hi people, im looking for some advice and I'm hoping somebody can help. I'm looking for a career change into security systems installing and I'm not sure where to start? im 37 and have been working as a field engineer for Sky.uk for nearly 10 years. I'm looking to move on but I am not sure the best way to go about it. I have been looking at some courses on Tavcom. Problem is, I'm not sure if these courses worth doing without hands on experience? Obviously they are quite expensive and I'm just concerned after committing they wouldn't be worth much without experience in the field. Or should I be looking for trainee positions? Only problem with that …

Hi all I heard about this sounder and have seen it has been mentioned a few times on this forum. Its apparently the dogs bollox (besides the masterblaster). I believe this novagard4Q is a self contained siren with an on board 12v battery and has 4 piezo's and sounds at 123db! This sounder sounds perfect for any location. Can you still buy this sounder? if so where? thanks. I have seen the novagard 4 but I don't think its quite the same. any help would be appreciated.

Hi all I install a few alarm systems here and there and was wondering what the best internal sounder to use is? The equipment I use is mainly scantronic with aritech or risco pirs, The bellboxes I use are either flashguards or the novagard 2. What internal speaker should I use though? I was thinking of using the elmdene or the cqr soint 1 but unsure. The panels I use need at least one 16 ohm speaker connected. So what 16 ohm internal speaker would be the loudest and most reliable to use?
