Hi All, I have a garage with a Cooper Scantronic 9651 unit and two Pyronix Deltabell box's mounted on each end of the garage along with two control panels. It is all hardwired and was installed 10-12 years ago and has worked perfectly until recently. One Tuesday afternoon one of the Deltabells went off i.e. Strobe and Bell, I tried to reset it via the control panel but the panel was showing no alarm of any sort and would not stop the bell sounding. Finally after 15mins the bell stopped but the strobe continued. The strobe continued until the following Saturday when it reverted back to alternating LED's. The next day Sunday the bell box went off ag…

I replaced the old 9800 keypad with 9827. The whole system was the left by the previous home owner and I think not used for a few year. Bought a new battery. The old keypad had beeping sounds when pressing the keys but some keys were not working so I decided to replace it. However no info on the screen. Only have one keypad. With the new keypad, address set to 1, and with cables connected the same way as the old one, I am getting the following: Does anyone know what error is this? I did power down mains first, then battery, then waited a bit and connected battery and mains. I do have the user code but doesn't seem to do anything. Now there is no sound com…

Hey We have, what I believe to be, a scantronic 9800. It hasn't worked for a number of years, so a few months ago I got an engineer out to fix. It had bf, tr and rr errors on it. i thought it would just need a new battery, but the engineer came out and said the board was dead and would need replacing...and charged £150 for the privilege, along with a quote of £400 to install a new board, battery keypad and siren. ive not looked into it further since, but thought I'd have a play around. I opened up with control box and the fuse had been removed, and there is no battery inside, so I assume to engineer must have taken it with him! With the f…

I have an old alarm system PA400 4 Zone wired intruder alarm. Was working fine until a few days ago. Tried a usual alarm setting - didn’t happen. Have since replaced two batteries on/in the control panel and used “re-set”. Now cannot programme the alarm, even using the manual. Any ideas?

Hi I have an ‘optima XL 4’ in my house it’s been there since we moved in. As far as I was aware it didn’t work for whatever reason. We weren’t bothered by it so never touched it. Previous owners said it was broken and therefore we never got a code off them. However today my kettle tripped my electrics and when the electrics were turned back on, this ‘broken’ alarm decided to come back to life, it’s beeping constant. However it’s really quiet. Can anyone help?

Good morning all. I have removed my alarm box from our house due to not using it for years now. I have installed it in my shed due to garden hoppers robbing sheds etc just lately. my problem is all the cables were under the floor boards etc so I do not have a clue where to connect the one sensor I have put in the shed. I decided not to put the bell box in due to the alarm panel being loud enough on it’s own. Can anyone send me a pic of where to connect just the one sensor. Thanks in advance. Smed

My alarm randomly went off at 4am this morning (wasn’t set). I entered the code and it stopped. However, exactly an hour later it went off again at 5am and then an hour after that at 6am. The control panel has the follow message: Fuse/Bat FAULT !!! CHECK!!!! The alarm hadn’t went off from 6am till earlier this afternoon I removed the fuse and this again set off the alarm about half an hour later and the panel now has this message: ’Kypad 1 tamper check’ Can anyone advise how I solve this issue and stop the alarm from potentially going off again during the night

Hi Guys/Gals. I installed a Honeywell Optima security alarm system the other day. The system tested okay, I have programmed the zones, Competed walk test, Tested siren, Tested strobe. The system sets but when entering the house and triggering the PIR, The panel sounds and then siren sounds but only for a couple of seconds to repeat about 15 seconds later. Tried everything in the manual to rectify but nothing seems to work. I will try Honeywell Customer services tomorrow but really stressed as to what it could be. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have a Texecom Premier Elite panel running firmware version 4. I would like to upgrade this to version 5 and need the flasher interface (CDH-0001) to do this. I only have the one panel to do this so I wondered if anyone had the interface that they could loan or sell to me. It seems a bit OTT to buy a new one for this one-off job?

hi, hoping someone can help me. I've installed a premier elite panel at a friend's house, everythings working but I cannot remember how to programme the keypad for quick arming. I've already done this to my own system but its been a while. All the manuals I've read mentioned the keypad needs to be enable for quick arming but none of them tell you how to do it. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

I would like to add an additional zone to an existing install. Sadly, although the cable i have access to is 8 core, some clown has cut/failed to connect one of the cores further up the line, so instead of a spare pair, i have a spare single! I was wondering if it is possible to share a common return for a zone to add an extra door contact. Without going into full detail, lets assume (ignore tamper and power) i have a PIR zone on yellow & blue, and a spare orange wire. I was thinking about linking out the first pin on zone 1 (blue) with the first pin on zone 8 at the board. The second pin for Z1 (yellow) The second p…
