Hi All, Done a takeover on a Pyronix Euro 46 LM last week (never touched one before) managed to get on alright until halfway through I lost all three wired keypads, managed to figure out the fuse on the panel and get them back, tbe problem I had was that two of the keypads have CQL Electronic Keyless Panic Alarms, and without being pressed they are constantly in alarm, I could not reset them and just had to turn them off to allow client to use rest of alarm for timebeing, anyone come across anything like this. Aplogies if its obvious, never used Pyronix or Keyless PAs either. Thanks Sam

  2. Hi, I'm currently installing a Texecom Premier Elite 24 (metal so the bigger PSU) with two sounders, an Odyssey 1 and an Odyssey 1e, both in SAB mode. This is a DIY install but I like to stick to standards. The Odyssey 1 is wired in 8 core with separate wiring for tamper and fault so could be wired as a Grade 3. The Odyssey 1e is wired in 6 core (it replaces an older sounder) with just the normal 5 wires connected. It looks like the total alarm current for the two sounders exceeds (just) the 900mA fuse rating of the Premier Elite 24. I also note that the bell output on the panel is rated at 500mA max. I'm also using the Texecom IR…

  3. Hi, I have a Risco Agility 3 security system. The system has worked great for the last 6 years until to the other day when the alarm refused to arm. I received the error code; “Zone 4 Lost” (my first floor landing sensor). I thought it might be a battery issue so I replaced all the sensor batteries and reset the system . This seemed to solve the problem for about an hour and then the “Zone 4” sensor connection was lost again. Any help or suggestions to resolve this issue would great fully received! Cheers, Chris.

  4. Hello guys, there is a new Scottish law on having interconnected fire alarms in all houses come February next year. Interconnected seems to mean a wireless system nowadays. My wife hates wi-fi equipment and refuses to have that, and I was wondering if any companies still do interconnection by thin cable between detectors, using 9V battery operated smoke detectors and 9V battery heat detector (kitchen). These used to be around in the 1990's as I installed them before in another house, but can only find wireless type now. I would not mind wiring up 3 smoke detectors and one heat detector with cable. But do not want a 240V AC system , just 9V batterie…

After a power cut the keypad started beeping and the neon went red. I did the Manage alert procedure and it cleared with the neon going back to green. Its still beeping, is there something else I need to do to clear this? thanks in advance.

There are several GSM speech and text auto-diallers available. One model is the Menvier SD3, with 8 Trigger inputs and 4 outputs plus 10 alert contacts. Can any user familiar with this device inform me whether one can configure a Trigger input (say PIR) to switch on an alarm (or siren, or light etc.) in addition to sending an alert? Specs are here: https://bit.ly/3lUH5bJ A similar auto-dialler is here: https://bit.ly/3iw1vWa with less inputs. We're only interested in GSM devices, as landline isn't available. We've spent a month researching auto-diallers, and have been continually told by installers that they have to have uti…

  7. Hello DSC security system experts I have a fully working DSC 832 system with an old LED keypad. Wanted to upgrade to a nicer LCD so bought a second hand PK5500. When I connect it parallel to the original keypad it lights up and displays "5 restaurant unavailable" and nothing more happens. It does not respond to any key input, *8 or similar.. just displays time and if you press something "5 restaurant unavailable" I was able to change language by pressing and if I press and hold # I get some "menu" with digits 1 to 8 but nothing more... so it ses to be ok just locked or frozen.. How can I reset the pk5500 keypad to factory settings or did I just bought a de…

  8. Started by Axotyl,

We have an Accenta Gen 4 installation on a remote site. Nuisance warnings are annoying neighbours when we're not present. We can check whether a false warning for an intruder using CCTV. Is there any way that we can switch off the Accenta via an internet solution?

  9. An aged system with eight detectors. Engineer walk-tests fine. But alarm is not tripped by any of the detectors except the three set as exit roots. Really puzzling thing is that if I trip a non-exit detector first (no alarm showing), then an exit detector, the formers number appears on the key pad. Any thoughts on a simple mistake in set up?

  10. Hi All I appreciate this is a fairly simple question, but this is a first Texecom install - which terminal on a Premier Elite 24 PCB should I connect my ADE Honeywell Informa Speech Dialler to? I had tried connecting to Bell+ but although I can make a test call from the dialler itself it does not dial when the alarm is triggered? Thanks in advance for any assistance. Si

  11. Hello I'm hoping some kind person on here can help me. I'm a sparky with a decent, but not brilliant, knowledge of alarms. I've been roped into a little alarm job for a regular customer. I've tried to read up on the issue but have got completely stuck. My customer has a Galaxy 2-20, it has 2 smoke detectors branded as Thorn SGU601 (but I believe the SGU601 was also made under other brand names including Microtech). I want to replace the smoke detectors with new but I can't get hold of the SGU601 so I'm proposing to fit Texecom Exodus detectors. The existing detectors have 5 terminals as follows: M (monitor), R (return), L (0v), L1 (…

  12. Good evening, I am writing to ask you info about the following problem. Today it has been the third time in less then 2 months that my Scantronic alarm started to make an internal sound - maybe a brief external one as well? - and give me the error "Sound Tamper Reset Required". I have performed the Engineer reset correctly all these times, but I was wondering if maybe this error means that I have to change my alarm battery. What do you think? Thanks for your help Steven

Fitted a Honeywell accenta mini gen4 with 2 lcd keypads, 2 odyssey X3 bellboxes, 4 honeywell PIRs and a couple of Veritas E sensors All is great apart from just one sensor Its a texecom impaq SC door contact and shock sensor. It works on the magnetic door contact and also the tamper but it just won't trigger on impact?? The LED indicated the impact, I can program the sensitivity no problem as well I've set the EOL resistance to 1k for both microswitches as recommended in the info sheet What am I missing? Can anyone help please Thank you

  14. Started by Gus,

Hi all, Ive just got a quick query I was hoping someone might be able to advise me with. I've moved into a house with a Risco Lightsys 2 panel fitted. There is one speaker near the front door, but as my bedroom is the other end and at the back of the house when the cat set it off, one of the kids was the only person who heard it! So I really need to add another speaker. I can run a cable from the panel to the landing near my bedroom, but wondered if someone could advise whether I can wire a second speaker to the panel, and if so should I wire it in series or parallel with the existing one, which I think is wired to Bell+/LS- terminals. …

  15. As topic really. Problems arise if we have a power cut and the alarm goes off. While the mains power is off we have no control to cancel the alarm as the keypad is dead for the duration of the power cut. I have checked the battery in the cabinet and it is fully charged. Should the battery provide power to the keypad during mains power cuts or is this something we (and the neighbours) have to live with?
