Hi all, The alarm syste, for my flat seems to be on the same fuse as the lights. I need to switch this off to fit a new light fitting, but when I do so the alarm sounds. How do I disable this feature to allow me to fit a new light without risking violence from my neighbours? Many thanks, Rob.

I'm 24 and fancied swapping trades. I applied for an apprenticeship with Initial. I've been invited back to do their entrance test. I was just wondering if it's worth starting with them if I manage to pass a Maths, English and Electrical Principles test lol. There are a couple of small local Alarm/Fire firms who I have spoken with and both probably will take me on. With no Exams So should I try and join a big national company or go with the smaller firms?

Hi, I'm new to this forum so please be gentle I was about to buy a Sterling 10 (with Vocaliser and Keystone wireless receiver) I decided to check out opinion first. How glad am I that I came across you. So, it looks like I need to start again in my research I'm after an Intruduer Alarm with the following features .... - Wired system with central panel and 2 remote keypads (front door and back door) - Autodial (to call several numbers including my mobile, maybe even SMS?, when the alarm is triggered) - wireless remote keyfobs for set/reset (to reset the alarm before putting car in garage) I would really appreciate any advice

I will shortly be returning to sunny England after 3 months promoting my IP products in the good old US of A. It's been an eye-opener for sure and it will be interesting to draw up some comparisons with how things are progressing in the UK. The VoIP boom has hit the security industry real hard over here and the conversion over to IP is about to go off the scale as everyone is ditching their landline. The strange thing is - the majority of alarm engineers do not understand IP. As a result they are scared of tackling the conversion. How many of you guys know your TCP from your UDP, your Gateway's from your Ports and are the inspectorates preparing you for tackling the wor…

Has anyone come across the major issue with the range of Galaxy G2 panels not having Security zones, i can not understand why they have left this function out, if a customer wants a fire door for instance to operate local sounders we have to fit a 144 zone control panel even if the system has 2 zones am i missing something or is this insane?
