Hello I have a system with a Veritas 8C control unit. I recently had my back door replaced and the fitter wrecked the old contact sensor. The alarm is currently disabled as it won't set. Can I fit an IR sensor in place of the contact and how will I recommission the system? I don't have a manual. Many thanks to anyone who can help. Ray O Wolverhampton

gentlemen, after many arguments with risco and their technical dept. ref the quality of this wirefree product and its installation manuals, could anyone leave us some general feedback as to your experience with this product. I am interested in your views in relation to user friendlyness, user reset and functions, display modes/ properties and general engineering prograsmming issues, all of which we have experienced as an install company. This is not to mension the wirefree bell unit. Please keep the answers clean as we intend to show the rep from risco your views on the product thank you all

Hi, I am in the process of nominating WINPAC as the standard access control system we are installing in our multi occupied commercial premises. I am getting a bit of grief from a s v small minority who think Paxton is the best route based mainly on cost. I am getting tired of trying to persuade them - whats the best way to prove WINPAC is worth the extra investement over Paxton. Thanks in Advance

Hi, Just moved into new home that has a Veritas 8 or R8 (not sure which) alarm system. By mistake I set off the tamper alarm by opening the main box (didn't know what it was, thought it might be cable so wanted to check). Since then the entrance hall PIR sets off the alarm even when it is unset (green led constantly on). Any ideas what I could do about that? Thanks for any replies. Pieter

Hi, can anyone help, I've recently moved house and I'm trying to setup the alarm system that which was installed prior to me moving in. The things is I don't have a manual, can anyone help. The only decal on the front are the digits A1, I've searched the internet but I'm unable to find a manual. The systems has 4 zones, 3 PIR's and 2 door sensors linked serially to one zone. Vague I know but there's not much else, I do know it's not the AJ600 because I downloaded the manual but the manual talks of a PROG button but there isn't one on my system it does have - ARM, OMIT, RESET & HOME LH side and either side of '0' are AWAY & ER. any info would be really appreciated.…

Hi, I have read quite a few of the tread with regards to Wireless systems and the fact they are not rated! I help'ed fit a Moss wireless alarm 11 years ago to there house which was very reliable until a gust of wind blue the bell box off!!! So much for my installation. Anyway I advised them to go to a local alarm company (Nascoss aproved etc) and get a profesional fit alarm. They were quoted and went for a wirless system again. Bells only. FM4000E unit, 4 pirs, Magnetic switch on front door and had the garage wired with magnetic switches, X7 bell on front and dummy on rear for around £500. Been using for 3 weeks and so far no false alarms and they are very happy. I h…
