Evening all, I have inherited a job where the 24 hour doors are shunted via a standard single gang/single pole key switch (ks1) there’s numerous faults on the doors but been scratching my head wondering how to go about cabling this whilst incorporating the resistors for the double doors and or a shunt resistor at the switch. Only way I can imagine doing it is by carrying additional cores through from the panel to the contacts

I have installed and programmed a Galaxy 48 which I got free from a building being demolished at work. I have installed and programmed it without too much trouble, and it works ok apart from the strobe light. I am using the ADT alarm box (Yellow hexagon) which came with the alarm originally. When the alarm activates the strobe and the siren go off correctly, but when the siren stops, so does the strobe, rather than continuing to flash. The bell is on 1001 and the strobe is 1002. Both are latched, set to positive I have attached pics of the wiring both ends (Blue wire isn’t connected at the panel end, as it’s temporarily wired indoors at m…

Hi, Just moved into a new home, the previous owners haven't even given us some keys so not a great handover. There's a veritas R8 alarm system that's off at the consumer unit. We've got five sensors in Hall, Landing, Kitchen, Living room, Dining room. We turned on the alarm at the consumer unit the other day and punched in the default user code followed by the default engineer code and the zone lights came on on the keypad. We tried to do a walk through test but it doesn't work as the online instructions suggest. The battery in the control panel is 22 years old so we're gonna change that but just wondering if anyone had any advice? One of the sensors doesn't l…

Hi all, We replaced our current router with another one, kept the same IP address and now Risco Cloud can't connect anymore. I noticed there were two (old) similar threads here: All other network devices have no issues. I can ping the lightsys 2 on the network. It seems the lightsys 2 doesn't refresh its ARP cache or something, sticking to the MAC address of the old router. It's been a couple of hours now. I tried resetting the router and disconnecting the LAN cable for a short while but it doesn't make any difference. Anyone else ran into this before? Rene

Hi to all, I was recently called to an address which seemed familiar, when i got there i remembered that it was my first installation as an engineer. The alarm panel was a Metal ADE Logic 4 ( for the newer engineers, yes they used to make them from metal......) To my surprise it was still going strong.. no problems at all, just needed the back up battery changing. No matter how much i tried, the couple refused to upgrade, all this new fangled technology is not for them... I just wondered what is the other installers first panels were??? Great forum love reading the topics ...
