Hi all, I've had the above panel installed with a wireless alarm for a number of years. It's got to the time of year again where one of the batteries in the wireless motion sensors is running low and triggering the alarm. This is becoming more and more frequent as the battery gets lower. My installer has stated that they cannot remember the engineers code. What options do I have? I'm not sure if removing the sensor and replacing the batteries whilst the alarm is sounding will sort it. Thanks, Dave

I need bringing into 2022 or at least my customer database does. I've been using a Microsoft access data base for well over 20 years, were a family business (Father and Son) and not accredited so don't need the likes of Alarm master. We looked at Job Logic but it seems they are trying to hard and as such are not pushing the right buttons for me. Everything and everyone want's there two pounds of flesh by offering the world then slapping charges on for cloud services, I don't mind paying so long as it works for us. We had a specialist company quote for a dedicated solution but £1.500.00 plus £60 a month was a bit heavy £££ Almost all our work is domestic. Does…

  4. I have just got a new Modern Security Systems bell box, made by Elmdene, dated 1992, however when power is applied, both sirens will sound very quietly, not at full power t all. Is this a problem with the bell box, or the wiring? I just put 12V into the Hold Off and it started sounding very quietly. Does anyone know if this has SAB/SCB functionality, or is it just SAB? If it is SCB, i know that it is the batteries that are the problem, I just need to change it back to SAB somehow, if this is the case. Thanks In Advance

Hi, This is my first time here. Please lead me to a single outside camera package that I can connect directly to an HDMI input on my television. When my security light activates, I simply need to monitor an entrance by switching to HDMI source on my TV. There's no need for a recording studio. I hope this is clear. Thanks

Hi all I’ve just built a new home and installed alarm cable to the following areas: - motion sensors in room - internal bell - external siren - keypad x2 All cable is running back to a comms room on the ground floor. I’d also like window and door sensors which would have to be wireless so I’d need a hybrid system. Could you please advise which system would meet my requirements? Criteria as follows: - grade 2 system (all components) - smartphone app - integrated with IFTTT (or Samsung smart things) - is very reliable - has the ability to extend into my garage wirelessl…

Morning all, I've got Texecom Premier Elite wireless system set up. I fitted it myself but had a Texecom engineer round to commission it for me and i general look after it which includes him coming round once a year to change all the batteries. He said if I was to run a cable from the control panel to the siren the next time he was over he would hard wire it for me and that would save having to keep changing the batteries and also I could then, if I wanted, have the blue light flashing on it when the system is armed! To do this I would need to remove the siren box to drill a hole to be able to run the cable through, question is, how d…

Hi All, I'm new to the forum and already need some advice! I recently fitted a wireless Texecom Elite system and had a engineer round to commission it. When it comes round to changing the batteries in the different sensors, how do I do that without setting the alarm off? I may if necessary be able to get the engineers code but not sure yet! Thanks for any help.

Im sure many of your clients have had this happen to them, how do you lot advise against it, do you drive a keyless car etc? Mine isnt keyless and i wouldnt want one but i get the convenience of it. However im still astounded new cars are sold with the same tech that allows relay or easy key cloning.

Dear All, I have a Scantronic 9800 hardwired alarm system that functions perfectly. In the past 6 weeks or so it has developed a Strange beep/chirp coming from the Control Panel about every 40 seconds whether the alarm is set or not !! There are no warning codes showing on the keypad (the Control panel doesn't have a display) I have tested the Control Panel battery and it is in excellent condition (only 18 months old) Strangely when Mains power is removed and the battery is disconnected the chirping continues even though the two main sources of power have been removed. I thought that maybe the bell box might have a battery and…

Sia updates all firmwares on supported systems as released if required. Whats the thoughts on auto firmware updates and what about the systems without support contracts in place?

  13. I have been doing some electrical work for an elderly lady around the corner. She has the above alarm which was fitted some18 months ago and she has never used it as the company who fitted it didn't explain things and have vanished. She asked me to have a look for her and explain how it works. It looks all fine and installed very well. I proceeded to explain to her how to use it and armed the system using a prox tab. It armed fine and we left through the Exit / Entry route. But when we opened the front door, the alarm went straight into alarm with no Entry time. I have had a look through menus, been in to engineers settings to confirm that zone was…
